First Lake weekend of 2015!

Friday after school we headed to Grammy and Papa's for the weekend. Papa and Chris had pulled an all nighter Friday night (getting an apartment ready, not a fun all nighter) so the girls were pleased to play with Grammy when they woke up Saturday morning!
Chris and I were lucky enough to spend the afternoon out (thanks Grammy and Papa) and once we got back the kids were eager to go fishing. It was a chilly day so they were still in their pajamas!

Killian was intrigued by the fishing and boats.
The girls each caught a fish. Charlotte's fish didn't survive as Chris removed a gil instead of the hook... Chris continues his tradition of kissing the girls first fish of the season. I made sure to not go near him...

Today (Sunday) was a nicer day. The kids were pretty good all morning and then all took naps. Later in the afternoon Martha Peter and Ellen came to go kayaking and for dinner. Ellen brought a screwdriver so we could get the bubble guns working and Killian was thrilled!

I also got him his own fishing pole which he loved for about 30 seconds. He was more interested in seeing how far down he could stab the end.
The girls fished for a bit but got no bites. I think their dead friend the day before served as a warning to stay away!
Martha and Peter went out for a quick kayak before we all joined them.

Killian made sure to cause some sort of chaos. This time it was trying to free the worms.
We got on life jackets and got into the Kayaks!
Killian was a pleasure to kayak with.... He went from my kayak to Papa's kayak and then tried to bail several times. We luckily made it back in once piece but I don't think I'll be taking him for an hour long kayak any time soon!
As soon as we got back the girls jumped into the lake, clothes and all.
Charlotte was so pleased she was swimming out so far. We didn't remind her she had a life jacket on still...
Lauren, Pete and Seth came to have dinner also and Seth brought baby Abraham! The girls were fascinated!
Our own baby made sure to make himself known and decided to get every last drop of his ice cream.
Once he was done it made a wonderful hat!

It has been a great first weekend at the lake!

Apple Blossoms

Last Friday we picked Charlotte up from school and headed up to the Apple Orchard to see all the blossoms. It was so pretty but the kids were so not into it. Charlotte's legs itched from all the high grass, there were bees everywhere pollinating the flowers and Killian was just grumpy. Caroline was off in her own little world. It was slightly stressful but it was good to get my camera dusted off!

This photo just kills me. Caroline is a piece of work and marches to the beat of her own drum. While Charlotte and Killian are exchanging dandelions, Caroline is doing backwards rolls in the grass.
The girls got along for five partial minutes while I tried to take some cute pictures for their room. They still only have photos from when Caroline was a newborn. Oops.

Charlotte cooperated for the most part which was pretty good after a long day of school!

Caroline is working on her photo taking face!
Poor Killian was just not happy. I managed to get one where he was not screaming.

We planned to take a picnic up but it didn't happen, maybe next year!

Spring Concert and Mothers Day

I apologize for not blogging- I will try and catch up!

Last week was a busy one! Thursday morning we cleaned the house up as much as you can with two kids at home. I can't remember when I last mopped the floors, and once I was finished I remembered why I don't very often. While I was vacuuming the bathroom Killian was in the kitchen dumping pancake mix all over the clean floor... He had a great time dumping it on the dog also.
We picked Charlotte up and headed home as she had her spring concert that evening. Killian's teacher from school was coming to babysit so we had an early dinner. In case you were wondering what it's like to eat with a 1.5 year old, it's difficult...
Charlotte sang two songs at the beginning of the performance and did great! It was so nice to see her so comfortable on stage!

Grammy and Papa came over for the show and we stopped on the way home for ice cream!
The next morning Chris let Baylie out to see that our friend the bear was back! He spent a good while picking up all the trash from the woods.
Killian woke up early so we all went together to get donuts before school/work!

Chris dropped Charlotte off and headed to work while Grammy and Papa came home with us.
That afternoon the grandparents could go to school and see what Charlotte does in her day. Charlotte lucked out with PE outside in the 85+ degree heat!
Once we got home Charlotte got her rain jacket on and pouted because there were bugs... Typical!
Saturday was busy. Caroline had ballet rehersal and Charlotte had a birthday party! It was an indoor pool party and she had a blast!
The bear returned late Friday night but luckily we noticed the garbage in the woods (unopened) before it was strewn about. Chris ran to the dump at 11:00 pm to dump the garbage and happened to find a tandem bike attachment! We tried it on Saturday and the girls had a blast! Charlotte was nervous at first but quickly fell in love with it!
Killian is still a bit too small and wasn't happy about not being included!
Caroline rode in style, undies and cowboy boots!
Sunday we had a low key Mother's Day. The kids made me a beautiful magazine storage toilet paper roll holder combo for the bathroom!
Chris got a call from our friend Willie saying he was driving through and wanted to say hi, so he came for a bit and the kids (chris included) took his dirt bike for a ride!

We've had lots of fun in the past few days!
