Chris is home!

Chris is finally home! I went to the airport to pick him up and asked about getting a gate pass to go through security. The airline representative was very helpful, took my id and went to print out a gate pass, and told me to wait to have the baby until AFTER he got off the plane! I surprised Chris by greeting him as he walked off! We got some yummy sandwiches from the Italian store and came home to greet Baylie. She missed Chris and wouldn't leave his side!

Chris also loved all the new baby stuff! He tried on the Moby wrap and the ERGO with the tester bear in it! He still can't get used to the fact that there is a car seat in the car!

It's so nice to have him home!

My Surrogate Husband

With the baby getting bigger by the second, (3 more weeks, although the lady at Target today told me I must mean 3 days and not 3 weeks!) Lisa has been filling in with helping me out until Chris gets back! Chris has started to call her my surrogate husband! She definitely earned her title tonight! After dinner she put together my bench with cubbies for shoes for me, and the shelf to go with it! That took about an hour and half. Then with an overtired child who was ready for bed, she braved the vacuum cleaner! I tried to vacuum today but couldn't get the hose attachment to suck. I was convinced that my dog had bit a hole in it, but when you covered it with your hand it still sucked, just not
powerfully at all! So Lisa detached the hose and dumped out quite a bit of dust and leaves from the shedding plant that I had sucked up with the hose instead of being over and picking them up by hand because it was so much easier to just use the vacuum! Here you can see why the vacuum lost its suction!

On the other hand... Baylie decided while I was gone today that it would be fun to go into the baby's room, find the bag I have packed for the birth center, open it, find the lunch bag, carry that off the bed and onto the floor, and eat the pistachios! She de-shelled them and everything! It looked like someone had been sitting on the floor and just throwing the shells on the ground, except no one was here except for Baylie. She is too smart for her own good!

How you know your in your 9th month...

This was my purchase at Target today.

I walked through the store laughing to myself as I compared prices of toilet paper, which I so desperately needed more of due to peeing about every half hour.  Chris already complains about how quickly the roll of toilet paper disappears, so I started buying jumbo rolls pretending that it wasn't being used as quickly! Now however I can't justify even that anymore, so its a good thing he isn't around yet!

The blow pops... that was to satisfy my sweet tooth, which seems to no longer be accepting my strong will to not buy anything sweet. I have broken down. It really isn't my fault. They are coming out with new studies proving that a love of sweets is hereditary, which I whole heartedly believe. Grandma and Grandpa have been known to consume a 3lb. box of chocolates in under a week...

Another nursing tank to add to my collection... self explanatory.

Last but not least... Cleaning supplies. Not only do I feel the need to clean to get ready for the baby, but I am also a little afraid of what my husband will think when he comes home if the house isn't clean. I know he understands that being 9 months pregnant, it is slightly difficult to have everything clean, but I also feel the need to make sure that when he returns he doesn't have a list of chores. So I've decided to tackle the house in small batches, which meant buying some more cleaning supplies!

On the other hand... Joli came over tonight for a sleep over. She was so cute with her little backpack on when she walked in.

She even had a valentine for me! (with Tootsie Roll Pops inside!!!!) She immediately got her daddy doll out of her bag, then told me she was afraid there were monsters when I turned off the kitchen light. I told her it was ok there wern't any monsters to which she replied, "Daddy got them. Mommy got them too" Apparently Lisa has some monster killing capabilities up her sleeve!

Car Seat!

Today after meeting with the pediatrician, Lisa and Joli met me at the baby store to help with getting the car seat and bringing back the extra swing. We were in and out of the store and drove around back to pick up the car seat in the loading section. We had to wait a little bit for them to find the right one, so we decided to hang out in my car. Lisa was in the rear passenger seat, I was sitting in the passenger seat, and Joli was standing on the drivers seat playing. I took the keys out of the ignition so we wouldn't have any issues and we hung out until finally the man brought out the seat. We figured we should go back to my house and install it since we needed to open the package etc. Lisa took Joli and went back to her car, I walked around to the drivers side and realized Joli had locked the doors while she was playing, and we shut all the doors of the car, with the keys inside! The two year old outsmarts us again. I called USAA and they sent someone over to unlock the car for us! Joli went to take a nap, then they came back over for dinner and to put in the seat !

Here is an old photo of what the house looked like when I returned and we unpacked all the packages that were waiting for me! There was no room in my recycling bin that week!

Joli was a little confused and kept saying "my carseat". She has already started to tell me that there is a baby in HER belly. Once we went inside she asked to go in the baby's swing again, (the hammock) and proceeded to hang out until I told her she could get in the big bed with Baylie! Hopefully the baby will like the hammock just as much!

Lisa put all the straps on, and then told me we were ready for guinea pig bear again! He looks nice and safe!
Finished product! We had a little trouble getting the car seat so it wouldn't move, but finally Lisa got in the car and pushed with her stomach against the back of it and that thing isn't going anywhere!

This happened while we were making dinner. Joli decided it would be fun to take out all of the little notes and scatter them across the floor! Just getting me prepared for a two year old!

Is this wrong?

Lisa let me borrow a bunch of baby clothes, and this onesie was in the pile. I thought it would go perfect with the little red babylegs I have. I couldn't wait another 6 weeks to try it on, so why not use the teddy as a guinea pig again!
