Chaos

The past two days have been a whirlwind of insanity. It started off yesterday morning when Lisa and Joli came over to take pictures of Joli in her ballet outfit. Joli immediately ran into the paper and knocked it down and wrinkled it. Then the dog ran in from outside all muddy and proceeded to walk right across the paper... Then Charlotte wouldn't nap even though she was exhausted! She finally slept for an hour. that's it. all day. She lounged around and played with Baylie, and whined about her teeth hurting.
We finally went over to Abby's and she was whiny there too, although from the pictures you wouldn't be able to tell!
She played with Syrus' cars...
...ate chips...
...and played with Lilly's stroller!
The kids were on their worst behavior and trashed the house... It all ended with my exit on the freeway being closed on the way home.
This morning we were brave and took the kids to the Wild Animal Park. Never.Do.That.Again. Charlotte was fine to start out, and got increasingly clingy and whiny. She had a brief moment of smiles with Lilly, I think they were plotting against us.
We went on the safari ride and there was a lady behind us with three children under the age of 5. You would have never known. She laughed at us the whole time.
Joli was the only quiet one on the safari ride... she ate snacks, and whined when Charlotte tried to take one. Then half of them fell out... then Lisa went to put them in Abby's cooler and they ALL spilled.
Syrus actually told Abby tonight, (and I quote) "Me have fun today, but Charlotte didn't. Her just kept cryin and cryin".
Charlotte and Joli both fell asleep on the way home, and I let Charlotte nap until 5. I woke her up and she was a blubbering mess and I put her down an hour later. She proceeded to talk and play in her crib until 8. I made myself a nice big yummy salad, put oil on it, and then the whole grinder of peppercorns/lemon herb blend opened as I was grinding it and spilled all into my salad. Sums up the day pretty well! Off to bed... hoping for a new start tomorrow!

Bonus!

Today was a refusal of naps kind of day. When we went out to Summer's Past this morning, I put Charlotte in the car early so we could drive around and she could nap. I put on some Paul Simon and we were on the highway, so I thought for sure she would nod off. I look back to see if she was asleep and she was in her car seat dancing and clapping to the music! She eventually fell asleep for about a half hour. This afternoon she REFUSED to nap once again! She stayed in her bed for 2 hours before she fell asleep. She just talked to herself, threw her glow worm out of the crib and then threw her binky and bunny too. She finally fell asleep and I started to put away laundry. Over the baby monitor I suddenly heard a voice! I freaked! Turns out it was Chris' voice from the recordable storybook and it was going off in her room! I knew for sure she wouldn't have slept through that. It kept going off again and again, so I finally went in and closed the book. She was sound asleep. She woke up about a half hour later though, and in order to keep her happy until bedtime we took the doll stroller and went to the backyard to play! I guess she likes walking with her tongue hanging out!

We played ball and she loved it! We got a super bouncy ball and she thought it was so fun!

We also played with her ball she got for Easter for the first time! It had lost some air so I pumped it back up... turned into kind of an oval, but Charlotte didn't mind!

We are slowly getting out of the "put everything in your mouth" stage, but she just had to see what this ball tasted like! Yuck!
As always, clapping was a popular activity choice!Charlotte isn't going to be able to hold Joli's baby brother for quite some time! She doesn't understand how to be nice to her babies yet!
Well, maybe she does! She loves to give them kisses!

Sweet Pea Day!

Today was Sweet Pea Day at Summer's Past. We met Lisa and Joli for some fun. There were a ton of people there and Charlotte was not very happy when we first arrived!Once she had a snack, and Joli and Lisa arrived she cheered up a bit.
Joli wanted Charlotte to play in the playhouse with her...
Charlotte wasn't into it.
We moved on to the sand box. Charlotte watched from the bench for a while, then ventured down a foot to the wagon and proceeded to put sand in and out of the wagon. She never went near the sand box though!
We walked back to the blanket, and stopped to enjoy the flowers on the way.

We had a little picnic and Joli ran off to play. Charlotte kept yelling jibber gabber to her to tell her to come back!
Charlotte's hair is getting a little curl in the back! It's so cute!
She tried on Joli's sunglasses!
The highlight of the afternoon was when Joli went to play duck duck goose with some other children and a couple moms. One of the moms ran by us and Charlotte absolutely lost it. She was terrified of the game. We were sitting quite a ways away from their circle, but that didn't matter! We finally left when Charlotte wasn't getting distracted anymore and just sobbing in fear! I didn't know I had such a scardey cat baby!

Seaport Village!

This afternoon we met Lisa and Abby at Seaport Village. It was a beautiful day, but very windy by the bay!
Joli started to climb the tree so Lisa decided to join her! Who said climbing trees when you are 7 months pregnant is unreasonable?!? Charlotte thought it was fun too!
Charlotte of course wanted to snuggle with Lisa!
While we were walking to the carousel we saw a mama duck with her ducklings! Lilly made a mad dash to chase them down, Charlotte looked quietly into the pond!

We got the the carousel and Charlotte immediately started crying and walked away from the gate. She was not excited! We went on anyway and she cried pretty much the whole time!
We made it up to her by getting Ben and Jerry's! We had to validate our parking somewhere!!!

Corvette Diner!

A quick story before starting some photos... Chris had left for work this morning before Charlotte woke up. When she got up, I brought her into our room so I could get ready. She walked over to the shower (where Chris has been the last two mornings when she has gotten up) and peeked her little head around the corner to see if he was there! She looked at me, and then looked back in further to make sure she didn't miss him! Then she looked in the bed for him. It was so cute!

Lisa's sister Brianna was visiting and wanted to do something fun with us today. Since it is spring break and the Zoo is packed, we decided to go to the Corvette Diner for some fun! Charlotte enjoyed walking with Joli and Brianna!Joli was thrilled about our decision to skip the zoo and go to the diner!
The best part about the Corvette Diner is that they have a DJ and take requests for music! Lisa requested "Dancing Queen" for Joli and Charlotte wanted to dance with her!
The girls did a lot of dancing. Joli even joined in on some older girls birthday party and danced with them. Charlotte played peek-a-boo under the table with them.
She is always happy when she is with Lisa, and dancing just tops it all off!
After we finished lunch we hit the arcade. Joli had a very short attention span, which ended with Lisa and I finishing her games. Charlotte wavered between thinking it was awesome, and being scared of the animated games!
We walked to the car and waited in the grass for Brianna to finish in the arcade. Charlotte enjoyed watching the airplanes and soaking up the sun!
I am really jealous of Charlottes amazing skin! Why can't I have nice Italian/Native American skin!?!?
Charlotte sat with Lisa while we hung out, and she re-positioned herself several times to try to get further into Lisa's lap. It was really funny because there was no more room to scoot back!
It was a fun day!
