Last night after dinner we went down to the playground. It is nice because there are hardly any people that go at that time, and we had the whole playground to ourselves! Charlotte wore her new jeans and sneakers! The only way to get to the twisty slide is from the big rock boulders, or up the rock wall, neither of which Charlotte can do by herself! But Daddy came to the rescue! Once she comes down the slide, I hold her up and Chris pulls her back to the top! A couple weeks ago when the park first opened, she would hardly go down the little slide alone, now she speeds down the slides! She is definitely opening up to the playground! Daddy came down behind her and she thought it was hilarious! She has so much fun playing with Daddy! She also loves the spinny thing. She even will go on it by herself! It is hilarious when she gets off and is so dizzy that she can't walk! I think she is going to love the rides at the fair this year! She keeps trying to walk up the slides. Daddy tried to help her by dangling his feet down but she didn't quite make it! Sliding down the stairs... Hanging out... Swinging! Climbing... Chatting... She was in the very best mood!
It was a great evening until Chris went to check on Charlotte before we went to bed. She was awake sitting up and of course reached her hands up for Chris. So he picked her up, which resulted in a never ending battle to get her to try to go back to sleep. He even put her in bed with us, which is something he swore he would never do! Then she would look at Chris and the two of them would start laughing. Mind you, this is at 12:30 am. Poor Charlotte finally got put back to bed by Mama, and I fell asleep to her yelling at me. Chris made sure she fell asleep before he went to bed... what a softy!
Mimi is coming to visit this week, and we have no flowers! Last time she was here she bought us all new flowers, and they died. So Chris thought we needed to get new ones so the house would look pretty. Charlotte thought it was a good idea and enjoyed gardening with Daddy. I can see her thumb turning green already!
Last weekend we had Wille, Lynsie, Ben and Kelley over for dinner. Charlotte had just woken up and Chris and I were trying to get dinner ready. She decided to hang out outside with Bunny. She thinks my lens cap is the greatest thing to play with! I absolutely hate cleaning corn on the cob. So I made Charlotte do it. Well, I helped, but it was much more enjoyable with her to entertain me! Lisa and Joe dropped Joli and Markus off because it was their anniversary and they wanted an evening without any children! Lynsie had fun playing with Joli. Charlotte thought they were funny. Joli thinks freeze pops are the greatest. Charlotte agrees, but she usually gets a yogurt pop instead. Poor Charlotte. Markus was pretty good. He is definitely a mama's boy and doesn't like to be away from her! He also doesn't like to be put down. It's a good thing he is so cute! We decided Joli could go and watch a movie while we finished up dinner. Baylie joined her. Chris tried to put Charlotte to bed so we would be down one child, but Charlotte had other plans. She was teething horribly, and got a couple more molars that night. I am not entirely sure how many teeth she has now, she hates when you look in her mouth, and I don't dare stick my finger in! She joined Joli for a movie! Lisa and Joe came to pick the kids up and decided to hang out with everyone for a bit while we made a fire and had smores. Lisa also found a use for the pipe cleaners Charlotte threw everywhere. What a great night with great friends!
