Today we went to Julian to go pick apples. Even though we will be headed east soon where they actually have fall, it has been a tradition (since I was pregnant with Charlotte!) for us to go to pick apples an hour and a half away in the warm sun with our little $10 bags. So off we headed and met Lisa and Joe there!

Charlotte was thrilled to see Joli and Markus. She and Joli set right off to filling up their bags!

Chris went to work being silly...

Joli was very sweet and would help Charlotte get some apples to put in her bag. Charlotte had a tendency to pick the apples with half the branch still attached...

Chris decided to be silly (of course) and see how many apples he could stack on Joli's head.

The winner was... two!

Charlotte was tired (maybe if she actually had slept the past two nights she wouldn't have been), but I managed to capture a few goofy smiles. Anything is better than a frown or the back of her head!

Charlotte was very into following Joli and copying everything she did. It was very cute!

The girls were happy to pose with their apples together!

They love each other, for the most part!

I can clearly remember walking down the same orchard path almost exactly a year ago. Chris was getting ready to deploy and Charlotte was so much smaller! It's crazy what a year can do!

We got to the end of the row and decided to take a rest. Charlotte wouldn't sit with me but Joli would!

Finally Charlotte came over and sat with Joli to take a rest.

Of course there was more apple eating to be done!

Markus made his way into the picture and was very happy with the fact that

The kids all loved being able to pick the apples and just start munching!

Then they started to get tired...

The boys were very goofy the whole time!

Somehow we ended up with quite a few half eaten apples in our bag! I wonder how that happened!

Charlotte eventually warmed up to the idea of putting apples on people's head and of course she wanted to try it out on me!

Lisa took a few pictures of the three of us. I was smiling in all of the pictures... Charlotte and Chris were a different story. The pictures Charlotte was smiling, Chris was making a face and vice versa!

We got a few shots of Lisa, Joe and the kids before Joli decided to start making goofy faces. I wonder where she gets that from?

This is not the greatest pictures of Charlotte, but I just LOVE her hair...

We started to walk back and of course continued picking apples on our way. Charlotte's bag was too heavy at this point so she would bring them back to the wagon.

Everyone thought I was nuts when I set up the camera on the corner of the wagon and on top of a bunch of apples, but we needed a group shot!

Chris pulled the girls and the apples back to the car and we headed to get lunch. It was a great day and Charlotte even fell asleep on the way home!
