Mimi meets Caroline!

Mimi got in yesterday morning. Charlotte was very excited to go and pick her up at the airport after hip hop class. She of course was too excited to take a nap so we played outside for most of the afternoon. Charlotte wanted Mimi to paint with her. Mimi obliged. It was pretty sunny out and since we all had our sunglasses on, Charlotte wanted hers on too!
She was surprisingly cooperative for photos!

It was time for taking a break from painting, although that didn't mean the smock came off. Daddy just can't get enough of Charlotte's plasma car... except he keeps popping the wheel out. We have banned him from riding it.
She has all of a sudden gotten REALLY good at driving and steering her jeep (and bike). She drove her jeep all over the backyard. She only got stuck in the bushes a few times!
She was very dirty and refused to wear a shirt. She looked like a little ragamuffin!

Mimi got some snuggle time with Caroline once she woke up from sleeping all afternoon!
Mimi can't believe how pale she is compared to Charlotte! Poor baby isn't going to tan easily like her sister and Daddy!
Charlotte was once again, very cooperative for photos!

Chris managed to get one with me in it too!
We are loving having Mimi here!

Playing outside!

We are all fighting colds over here... Caroline too. Those good preschool germs have made their way into our house. It might have something to do with the fact that the preschooler doesn't consistently cover her mouth when she sneezes or coughs... Needless to say it has been a rough couple days/nights. Charlotte has been adjusting to not having a binky and finally took naps yesterday and today. We are starting to see our normal child back again! Caroline slept most of the morning and early afternoon so she needed some play time too. Only problem is that she likes to be held and is only happy hanging out in a seat or on the bed for so long! We went outside and played with Charlotte in the sandbox. She wanted Caroline to get in with her, but we watched from the side instead. She also informed us today that she wants another baby, a boy, and then another baby Caroline. Once she can start changing diapers and rocking babies to sleep I might consider it!

One month!

Miss. Caroline was born 4 weeks ago today! We took her one month pictures this afternoon. She was much more cooperative than her big sister, however she doesn't quite respond to her name yet. I'm sure I just looked silly trying to make her look at me! She continues to be a sweet baby but really likes to just sleep in the Ergo on someone's chest. She is still in newborn clothes but slowing moving up to 0-3 months. She is definitely awake much more often now! We are starting to get into the swing of things, the true test will be next week when Chris goes back to work!! Happy One Month Caroline!

Bye Bye Binky!

Thursday afternoon we took Charlotte down to visit the ponies and to give away her binky. It was something we were dreading and prolonging and we decided since we weren't getting any sleep anyway we might as well bite the bullet and give the binkies to a baby pony. Charlotte was very excited to share her binkies. We gathered them up before school on Thursday and put them in a baggie. There were 11 total. I think she was a bit of an addict. When we got to the horse back riding place she picked out her favorite one, the purple one and got ready to give it away. They were so nice and accommodating even though they had never had such a request before. We got to look at the horses and the baby goats before giving up the bink.

Charlotte had one last suck before we went to the baby pony who needed her binky.
Her friend Chloe was there to help.
The pony she gave her binky to was named Layla and she took the binky right out of Charlotte's hand!
That morning Chris and I had some time to kill before picking Charlotte up so I told him to drop me off at Marshalls. Charlotte had silky pony pajama pants that she absolutely loves and I just so happened to find a night gown in the same pattern! It was even on clearance for $5. Who could be without? After she gave her binkies away I quickly gave her the bag to open to see what was in it. She was so excited she wanted to put it on right away! Then she got to go on a pony ride!
She picked the white pony whose name was Ariel!

She had so much fun. After ponies we went to get ice cream, and then to Target to pick out a special prize. She was very very tired and we thought it would be easy to get her to go to sleep without the binky. We were wrong. After crying for it for an hour and a half she finally fell asleep. She woke up a few times that night crying and was up for good at 5am, which is AT LEAST two hours before normal. If Chris weren't home I would have given it back to her! I am happy to report that last night was MUCH easier. She only asked for it twice and she fell asleep without crying and slept until 8:30 this morning! Hopefully tonight will be even better!

Playing Outside!

Today was the first time Caroline hung out outside! It hasn't been terribly nice out the past few weeks but today was beautiful. I have to admit, I didn't actually get outside until about 3pm. Chris took Charlotte to work with him today to just check his email and say hello, and Caroline and I took naps! Then Chris took Charlotte to the park and the candy store. She was thrilled. After mandatory "quiet time" which seems to be going a bit better, we played out in the back yard. We are also attempting to keep Caroline up more in the afternoons so that she isn't awake when we want to go to bed. Last night was a success, just hoping tonight is as well! Charlotte loved having Caroline outside with her. Sometimes she isn't so gentle though!I just love Caroline's little toes! Charlotte's feet seem so big now!
Caroline was pretty happy most of the time. She is getting all pimply so I put a lot of pictures in black and white! We had her 3 week checkup yesterday and she weighed 8lb 14oz! What a chunk!
She is a cute chunk though! I started putting away some of the newborn stuff that was getting a bit snug!
Charlotte had a blast riding her new Plasma Car around the yard. I even tested it out today... it is a pretty neat toy!
Baylie enjoyed sunning herself as well.
The three girls... Poor Chris, even the dog is a girl!
Caroline and I hung out while Chris trimmed tree branches and Charlotte rode in a variety of vehicles.

Caroline started to squawk a bit and Charlotte came running right over. She patted her and kept telling her "It's alright baby Caroline, I'm right here". I hope she doesn't decide she hates her once she can take her toys!
Then she decided she would snuggle with her sister, and somehow I managed to get a few pictures before I got yelled at for taking her picture and she ran away.

Finally they watched clouds (that didn't exist) together before Caroline had had enough laying on the ground and wanted to be back in the comfort of the Ergo on Daddy's chest. It was a fun afternoon with the girls!
