Today we celebrated Mother's Day since Chris has to work tomorrow. The morning started off with sleeping in until 9. No, Charlotte didn't sleep in until 9, but Chris took both girls so I could! Charlotte was very excited to see me when I woke up. She was outside with Chris and enjoyed making silly faces through the window. Grammy would be proud.
Finally she had enough and wanted me to let her in!
Charlotte got squirt guns in her prize box this week and she just loves chasing Chris, Baylie and I with them!
Since it was so nice out we blew up the birthing pool that we never used and Charlotte had a blast!
Caroline woke from her morning nap around 2, (the baby likes to sleep!) and we went outside in an effort to get Charlotte to take a nap.
Caroline refuses to take a binky but she loves sucking on her fingers!

After about 5 mintues I heard a little voice saying "I did a good job resting!". She was all smiles since she knew she didn't really nap and she thought it was funny that I was taking pictures of Caroline, so she joined in.
Chris was at the hardware store and he came home and wanted to know how I bribed Charlotte to take pictures. I actually didn't have to! She was very into it today! (Her hair was just a mess. We went to see Peter Pan last night and she fell asleep in the car, and yup, her hair was the same as the night before!)
She just loves loves loves her baby sister!
Charlotte is obsessed with picking the toe jam out of Caroline's toes and fingers. She is quite obnoxious about it. She pulls apart Caroline's toes so far, yet Caroline never says boo. I love how she is looking at Charlotte.
Charlotte wanted Baylie in a picture too. Neither Caroline or Baylie were too happy with the idea, but they didn't dare go against their masters wishes!
For dinner I wanted to go to our favorite salad place, so we got ready to go!
Charlotte was pretty tired at this point and not too cooperative, but she at least took a picture with mom.

We had a slightly crazy dinner, Caroline thoroughly soiled her car seat (and Chris), Charlotte got her fingers pinched in the bathroom door, Caroline refused to be happy through dinner unless she was being held and bounced (a lady next to us offered to take Caroline while I ate, crazy but thoughtful of her, I declined...), yet both girls were asleep within 2 minutes of being in the car! Chris was wonderful and spent the day making my mother's day present (he waited until the last minute because the big mouth 3 year old can't keep a secret!) It's not the best picture and he isn't totally finished with it, but Chris made both the girls impressions (Charlotte's hand and Caroline's feet) with beach sand from Coronado, and shells that he and Charlotte found on the beach. Something not only to remember their little hands and feet but also to remember our time spent in San Diego once we are back on the East Coast! It was so thoughtful of him and the best mother's day present!
