Playing at Grandma and Grandpas!

Caroline loves spending time with Grandma and Grandpa! She is doing such a good job sitting up and trying to crawl!!

Afternoon Swing!

Wednesday afternoon Charlotte, Caroline and I went outside to swing for a bit. Charlotte was really good about the fact that the swing was for Caroline and since I only had it hung up on the basketball net that it wouldn't support her! (We are in the process of making Charlotte her own swing and attaching the swings in between trees, but until then the basketball hoop it is!) Caroline loved it and Charlotte loved being the helper and pushing her! She was actually really well behaved which was a nice treat, and she even went to bed without throwing a fit. (She then proceeded to get out of bed a half a dozen times for various reasons to include "excuse me mommy, I have something to say... Goodnight". That one she came all the way downstairs and into the office for!) I think that it is about time I start to take the moving labels off our belongings...

Visit from the NH girls

Yesterday Grammy, Martha and Ellen came over for a visit! It was so nice to have four adults for two kids, a change from being outnumbered! This morning we all headed to swim lessons, but had to snap a few photos first. Caroline is getting so good sitting up! She only falls when she gets excited and arches her back! She is such a sweet girl!

Oddly, Charlotte came out and wanted to take a picture with Caroline. Caroline didn't get the memo to smile...

We even used the self timer and took a photo us all us girls. Ellen used to be the only girl (besides the moms) in the group, I take full credit for producing two girls to add to the mix! (Ellen, Judith and Martha only have brothers too!)

 Then we headed to swim lessons where Charlotte proceeded to sulk. She was doing really good and then last week she slipped in under the water and it hasn't been the same since...

She had a great cheering section though!

 Caroline was great as always.

She started perking up for the swimming after the duck part... after she tried to sneak the other kids ducks...

Tomorrow is the last day and I think she will be pleased!

Horse Barn!

Last week we took Charlotte up to the race track to go to the horse barns. One of Mimi's friends is a horse trainer so we got the behind the scenes tour. Charlotte loved it!

 She got her boots cleaned just like the horses get their hooves cleaned...

 She searched with Alison for the horses that were missing in the barns! (She thought they might be hiding under the hay!"

 And her favorite part was feeding the horses peppermints!

 She of course had to make silly faces when I asked her to smile...

 And when I asked her to not make a silly face she frowned.

It was a fun morning! Thank you Shug and Alison for inviting us up!

Trip to the park!

 Yesterday it was finally cool enough to take the kids outside to play! It has been so hot and humid and we don't have air conditioning making the kids miserable! It was so nice out we went to the park after the girls woke up from their naps. Caroline loves the swings and Charlotte loves pushing her! Of course Caroline tried to eat the swing which was nice and dirty. I quickly wet-one-ed it off but a few germs shouldn't hurt... hopefully! Caroline got to check out what grass was all about and Charlotte enjoyed playing on the playground! It was a nice break from being in the house!!
