Playing at the park

Last week we headed up to the park to let the girls swing and get some wiggles out. Caroline enjoyed crawling around and sitting watching her big sister.
Charlotte had a great time playing with some of the other kids. One of the little girls who was in her swim lessons was there and she and Charlotte had a blast! Too bad this is only her summer home...

Caroline and Charlotte spent a bit on the swings. Caroline just loves to swing. Charlotte prefers the baby swings because she can go really high, but I hate monopolizing the baby swings, so they went together.
Charlotte went on the big swings for a bit.
Then she decided she wanted to push Caroline, which they both thought was great.

We had lots of fun and I actually had a somewhat relaxing morning since Charlotte was playing with the other kids!!

Day 3 at the Lake!

Last Sunday we went back to the lake for breakfast. Uncle Rick made blueberry pancakes and we ate looking at the water!  While we got ready to go out for a kayak Aunt Pam got some snuggle time with Caroline!
Charlotte waited down by the water patiently with Papa until after breakfast was done and we could go out on the kayaks!

Grammy entertained Caroline for a while too which is always nice!
Charlotte didn't have any long sleeves or sweatshirts (oops) and it was a bit cold so her solution was to wear my shirt.

She was awfully silly!

My favorite part was when she came in the house with her sunglasses and hat on and started dancing...

Then we went out for a kayak! Our first stop was Blueberry Island per Charlotte's request. Then while we were paddling around another kayaker asked us if we had seen the eagle. He took us to see a Bald Eagle who had been sitting in the tree all morning. We also saw a turtle! Charlotte couldn't believe all the wildlife!

Looking forward to our next trip!

The Lake Day Two

Saturday we went back over to the lake house. When we arrived a boat was pulling up with Chris' best friend growing up Jimmy's family. Jimmy's sister has a little boy who is Caroline's age. They enjoyed staring at each other. Charlotte was VERY protective over her little sister. She also made sure that Caroline had all the toys and Jackson had none.

We also got to spend the afternoon with Lynsie! It was so nice to see her! The last time she saw Caroline was when she was a week old! We headed out onto the boat for a ride around the lake. Caroline was less than pleased with the lifejacket arrangement.
She perked up a bit once we got her head out from being totally squished..
It took a constant hour long bouncing and baby talk effort to keep her happy.

Meanwhile, Charlotte loved the boat and had Aunt Pam wrapped around her finger!

Then Caroline started to lose it...

Charlotte saw a Mama Loon and a baby, which calmed both our fears after we saw a loon (or then it was a mystery creature) come up and dive under the water while kayaking. I went from panic to laughter when I saw Charlotte (who was ahead of me in Papa's boat) exclaim "PAPA PAPA I JUST SAW SOMETHING IN THE WATER", at the same time as I was having a mini panic attach in my own boat.

I just love her look. I have no idea where she inherited that from... her father, clearly.
Caroline was much happier after we were lifejacket free. Charlotte loved seeing Lynsie.
 Caroline was very happy!
After dinner Charlotte, Lynsie and I went out for a kayak trip to the little island to get some wild blueberries. Charlotte really wanted to bring woof woof, but I told her he might drown (or get lost in the water) so he watched from the deck.

We had a great afternoon of visiting with friends and family!

Grammy and Papa's Day One

Last weekend we spent a few days at Grammy and Papa's new lake house! The girls loved it. Caroline enjoyed the water and chewing on sand toys. Papa was so hot he ran right in with all his clothes on!

Papa put Caroline on his head for a picture and while he was smiling Charlotte blindsided him with a watering can full of water right on his face...

Lauren, Pete, Martha and Peter came over Friday night for dinner. It was nice to have the kids outnumbered by adults!
Charlotte loved being the center of attention!

She topped her night off with a campfire and roasting marshmallows.
