Mud Puddle

We got quite a bit of rain Friday night into Saturday, and the girls were a bit tired of being cooped up inside the house for a couple days. Chris took them for a walk to the mailbox and I looked out the window and saw they had stopped to play in the big puddle in the driveway. They were having a great time. Caroline didn't care about being soaked one bit. She also put to use her new desire to run off into the woods, give me a heart attack for fear of losing her as well as yucky creatures that reside in the woods... After about a half hour of playing in the puddle the girls came inside for a bath. Charlotte was very disappointed the next day when the puddle was gone!

Lake Part Two

Sunday was also a warm day, therefore was spent in the water.
Chris took Caroline out but she was very clingy, so he brought her in the Kayak with him which she liked much better.

She really liked playing in it while it was on shore. She enjoyed throwing Baylie's ball into it too...

Then the boys got silly. First Chris and Charlotte tipped Papa over in the Kayak, then Papa tipped them over in the float. Next, the water guns came out. Caroline did a great job helping Papa.
The girls then decided to watch from the shore, as I think Charlotte had enough fun for one day.

Once Papa was sitting down resting, Charlotte decided she would get him with her water gun. She thought it was very funny.
After dinner we headed home for the weekend. We are looking forward to more weekends at the lake this summer!

Lake Weekend Part One

Last weekend was our first weekend at Grammy and Papa's lake house of the season! It was a warm one with temperatures close to or in the 90's. Luckily, we had a lake to cool us off! Caroline was a little timid of the lake and mostly preferred to sit on the shore.
She was happy to go in with someone holding her, and the water was surprisingly pretty warm!
We got out her baby float from last year that she was a bit too small for at 4 months... but it is great for her now!

Charlotte loved pushing her around the lake.
Saturday morning we went over to the Rowell's for a baby welcoming party for Baby Scarlett. It was HOT! We mostly sat in the shade, Charlotte explored the farm with Big Pete and brought us back some chicken eggs! Caroline was very much into exploring also, and luckily there were lots of people to chase after her!

Watermelon is always good to cool off with!
We got hot enough after a while that we decided it was time to go home and cool off in the lake.
Charlotte got her bathing suit on right away and waited patiently for someone to take her down to the water.
Caroline hung out with Papa and promised not to pee on him while she waited.

Chris blew up the giant float for me, except the water was still a bit too cold for my liking, so he and Charlotte put it to good use.
Caroline played in the water for a bit then decided she would rather sit with Mommy and pretend to blow bubbles.
Eventually I had enough of trying to keep her away from places she should go and we headed up to the porch.
Charlotte then went fishing and caught 4 fish! She is quite the fisherwoman!

Preschool 3's Graduation

Last Thursday was Charlotte's end of the year performance for preschool 3's or as Charlotte says "the Gradulation show". She must have gotten her silly "last day of school face" from Grammy!

Next year she will be in the 4-5 class and going 3 days a week. While writing her cards for her teachers the morning of, Chris and I were surprised to find out that Charlotte can write her whole name by herself! We were somewhat shocked!

The kids put on a great performance with lots of singing and dancing. Charlotte did a great job! There were a few dancing with partner numbers and of course she and Teddy were partners!

 They did a great job!
After about a half hour (or a little longer) of listening to their beautiful voices they each got a certificate for completing the year!

After the performance was over we had a barbecue with all the families and the kids got to play for a bit longer before parting ways for the summer! It was a fun morning!
