Happy 2nd Birthday Caroline!

Last Thursday Caroline turned two! We can hardly believe that it has been two years already. Maybe that is because we are exhausted and sleep deprived...

Caroline is full of energy 90% of the day. The other 10% she is sleeping. I have to thank my lucky stars that she is at least a good sleeper... She has to be with all the activity she does when she is up!

Caroline is talking so much recently, she can remember and recite books and songs when prompted, she uses the toilet perfectly, but only when she feels like it... She loves playing with her brother and sister and wants to do everything Charlotte does.

She is still quite the peanut, weighing in at almost 23 pounds, and just now starting to wear 18-24 month clothes!

She is talking up a storm, and in full sentences, yet she just started saying her own name a couple weeks ago. It is very cute, and sounds like "Ca-a-yine". She loves playing with her baby dolls, and puts them to bed and feeds them lovingly. Perhaps it was fitting that she got a new kitchen for her and Charlotte's room for her birthday, and a high chair for her baby that clips on the table. She loved her birthday and loved us singing to her.

We love you Caroline, thanks for being so full of life!

Caroline's 2 Year Photos

Last week we did the kids yearly "birthday" photos. Caroline was sort of into it, as long as she could wear her silver Hunter boots. Still, as much as she is into something, it is very difficult to get her to smile AND look at the camera. She had fun though and the photos are definitely "Caroline".

Valentine's Day Photos

A couple of weeks before Valentines Day I felt ambitious and got the kids to cooperate for a few minutes while we took a few pictures for Valentines Day.  The were all in pretty good moods and even Caroline complied! They really do love each other... most days!

Killian 5 months!

How is it possible that this sweet boy is already 5 months old? He is definitely a joy and a sweet baby. He is in 6 month clothes now and he is ever so cute. Think he is weighing around 14 pounds. He wants to sleep in bed and very close to me, which isn't always so much fun. I try to remember that he is the last baby and will only be little for so long. He LOVES putting things in his mouth and his favorite thing to chew on are the linking rings. He is rolling over from his back to his belly, and can get back but he doesn't always want to. He loves the jumperoo and has started to sit at the table with us when we eat. He is a very happy, spoiled little boy!

Sledding and Snowshoeing!

The first snowstorm of the year proved to be a good one, and once the weather got warm enough we went out to play. The girls loved their new sleds from Babo Skip and Chris even made a new sledding trail through the woods. Once they were bored with sledding they set off on a snowshoeing adventure following the tracks of a Red Fox that hangs out in our yard. Charlotte had a blast and Caroline loved being in the backpack, letting Daddy do all the work!

Week in Review

I know I have been horrible about blogging lately, more on that later. Here is a quick review of the past few days.

Caroline got us all sick with a cold. I think I got it the worst, besides grandma. we took Killian to the doctor on Thursday to make sure that his lungs were clear. The doctor informed me that he had an infection, which I found hard to believe since none of my children have ever had your infections before. After she recommended putting him on an antibiotic, I called Dr. Katie the kids chiropractor and she checked the kids out. I did not want to put him on an antibiotic, especially since the recommendation for ear infections is to wait 48 to 72 hours after diagnosing before giving an anabiotic. So, the kids had a couple adjustments, and Killian got some garlic oil drops in his ears, and by the next day he was remarkably better.

Since we were in New York all last week, the kids enjoyed being back in the house.  Charlotte return to school, and we tried to get the house in order. Killian still refuses to sleep in the crib, so he's been either in his swing where most of the time in bed with us, which I always swore would never happen.

Tonight we made homemade pizzas and the kids loved it. I think they enjoyed eating the cheese the most. It's been a relaxing weekend, now if we would just get some more snow!

A quick summary!

Here is a collection of photos from yesterday and today. A quick summary...  We got out the jumperoo and exersaucer this weekend for Killian to try. Caroline had to try too, of course. We went outside to play yesterday before the rain hit today. Ever since the snowstorm last week the temperature hasn't gotten above freezing so the kids remained inside. Yesterday it was in the 30's so we went out before it rained. The girls played in a fort that Chris made for them last night and didn't want to come inside, even though it was dark! After we had dinner the kids all took their first bath together!

This morning we dropped Charlotte off at school and since it was pouring, her teacher came and got her for me. This left Caroline very upset so we had a little date at the local coffee/donut shop with all the old townies. They loved Caroline's silver rain boots and she loved showing them off. This afternoon Killian learned to roll from his back to his belly, but he can't roll back off his stomach. It's his first night not in the swaddle pod to sleep so it should prove to be interesting.

Finally, Grandpa fell and broke his hip last night, he had a successful surgery this afternoon but please keep him in your thoughts.
