Skating

This morning started out like yesterday morning, except once Killian and I woke up everyone joined us in bed. Chris apparently tried to take a photo and this pretty much sums up what it's like with 5 in the bed!
Killian had his breakfast and then wanted some of Chris'. We put music on and Killian wanted to dance too.
Charlotte did some awesome dancing with her crazy dance moves. Killian went down for a nap and Charlotte and I proceeded to watch two hours of Taylor Swifts "Journey To Fearless" documentary. Charlotte expressed that she wants to go to NYC when she is bigger, like in a booster seat, and see Taylor Swift.
After lunch and once Killian woke up from his nap we got suited up to go next door and Ice Skate. Charlotte's teachers husband builds a rink each year and today it was finally ready! If you thought getting ready to just play in the snow took a long time, add about a half hour for ice skating. Caroline was ready to go with her helmet and in the car waiting. She was so excited.

She wanted to put her skates on as soon as we got there and jumped off the bench and fell right on her bottom. She laughed and got right back up. The rest of skating went pretty much just like that.

Charlotte was very nervous about using a single blade skate but Connor helped her out on the ice and she did great!
She went right over to Daddy and was very excited that she could skate. We have previously used a dual blade skate, only because I didn't know any better!
Mr. S and Charlotte love to goof around. He pretends he is allergic to Kindergarteners and Charlotte calls him out on it.

Connor helped hold Killian who wanted to skate too. Next year for sure!

Killian started getting cold, and tired, so we started to wrap things up!

We headed home and it took a little while for Killian to stop crying and warm up! After some popcorn and snuggling he was happy again and it wasn't long until dinner and bed. Everyone was asleep by. 6:45, it was lovely!

Saturday Fun

I woke up this morning (around 8, thanks Chris!) to Killian talking in his crib. Chris had taken the girls to get donuts, more dark chocolate almond milk (because heaven forbid Caroline not have her milk) and to the dump. KIllian and I played while we waited for them to her back. He even tried using the potty again. (He's gone every night for the past few nights, except tonight when he pooped in the tub).
Killian was so excited to see Chris and the girls when they got home and was even more excited that they had a donut for him!
This afternoon after Caroline and Killian woke up from their naps we got everyone bundled up and headed outside. If you are wondering how long it takes to get three children ready to go play, the answer is, almost as long as we are outside for! Luckily Charlotte can get ready herself which is nice, that is when she feels like doing it and not whining about it. Killian has about 15 different pieces to his snow outfit, that combined with the fact that he doesn't sit still it takes a while for him. Caroline always has to pee as soon as she's bundled (but not before) so she adds a few minutes to the grand total too. Chris usually has me get ready, then get the kids ready and he sends me outside with them while he putts' around the house for another 10 minutes "getting ready". Today I made sure that didn't happen!
Killian went right for the playhouse and was so happy to be outside!
He walked all around, lucky for him there wasn't more than a few inches and it was light and fluffy so he was able to move fairly easy.
Caroline was the last one out and we did a quick picture which Killian was not pleased with.
I also made everyone gather for a quick group selfie. I think they cooperated pretty well!
Then it was time to sled. We have a nice small hill that the kids enjoy.
Killian took his first solo trip down, Chris ran and caught him at the bottom. He loved it.

Charlotte went down a few times but it wasn't very fast.
Killian was happy as could be, while I was freezing.
I think we could make a pretty good bobsled team!

The girls had a final race down the hill, which Caroline won. Charlotte was bummed at first but perked up when Chris said he would pull them down to the mailbox.
I realized I didn't have very many photos of Caroline and I told her, so she stood still for me. She looks like she is ready to scrub in for surgery!
Caroline got the mail while Killian decided to bail off the sled and get the mail for himself.
He refused to get back on the sled and wanted to walk all around the road.
We had to drag him inside (because my legs were freezing) and he stood at the door and watched Chris finish shoveling.

We had some hot chocolate (Caroline was the only one who had some, that she spilt all over herself), and popcorn and attempted to watch the Patriots game. It ended in ordering pizza for dinner and Chris and I did "Rock Paper Scissors" for who got to go pick it up.... I lost. The night ended with Killian pooping in the tub, but Chris was able to catch the last quarter of the football game, and it ended in our favor, all is well!

Half Day

Today was suppose to be Charlotte's first day of skiing, but they cancelled it yesterday because they thought it was going to be too cold. I'm not sure how much warmer they think it is going to get, it is winter after all! Killian napped this morning while Caroline and I did things around the house. Caroline loves washing dishes. I sometimes wonder where all my soap goes, then I remember.
After Killian's morning nap we went to pick Charlotte up from school and came home. Caroline reluctantly went down for a nap (poor Killian was crying in his crib for a bit as Caroline would not go to sleep without me sitting with her, and Killian kept banging on the door. Charlotte was "playing" with him, but there is only so much a 5 year old can do!). Once Caroline was asleep, Charlotte , Killian and I went downstairs to play. Killian played with Baylie for a while, then was ready for his nap!
Charlotte guilted me into "knitting" with her while the others were sleeping. I felt bad as I knew the house would get destroyed as soon as the babies woke up anyway. We had fun and she did a great job starting her needlepoint kit!
I started dinner and then Killian woke up. His new word is "hot" and he puts his hand out when he says it. He loves the stove and trying to light the burners.... Oh boy!

Another Busy Day

Today began with my two little helpers doing the dishes. Killian thinks the dishwasher is the greatest thing he has ever seen and loves putting silverware in glasses etc.
While he played in the dishwasher, Caroline somehow colored her face blue.
We got ready for the day and Killian managed to throw Caroline's new SpinBrush Toothbrush into the toilet, which was filled with pee because no one flushes in this house!
We headed to story time at the library which I didn't get any photos of, it was packed! The kids didn't actually listen to the stories, but played as they normally do until they both melted and we headed home for naps. They ate minimal lunches and both went right to sleep . I was so relieved, I had made it to 12:00 keeping them both up and they would surely sleep until at least 2/2:30 as they were wiped. 1:15, footsteps at the top of the stairs at the same time I heard talking from Killian's room. How they can time waking up at the exact same time is beyond me. An hour and fifteen minutes. I am grateful they napped at least but what a disappointment! Caroline found a bag is jelly beans and in an attempt to get a few more minutes of peace that I was certain I was going to have, they shared the bag.
Killian also shared his snack with Baylie. Anything in his snack cup he didn't want he would pull out and feed her.
We left to get Charlotte from school and of course, headed to the library, because going home with 3 whiny children who destroy the house and want snacks every 5 minutes somehow just seems more stressful. Charlotte was exhausted and was very whiny and wanted to go home once she realized none of her friends were at the library. Caroline had her hat, jacket, mittens and shoes off within seconds and made herself right at home. Our friend Jamie was there with her boys and Caroline was very eager to hold her baby.
Killian and Caroline are starting to interact more, and that means Caroline now has a new wrestling partner!
Charlotte of course wanted her turn to hold the baby.
Our "baby" turned off the lights again, and ran around like he owned the place.
Whew! Bedtime is always such a relief :)
