What I've Been Up To!

I've been back in sunny California for 2 weeks now and have been busy getting ready for the baby! My friend Lisa has been helping me get things ready, and we have been using her daughter as our guinea pig for trying things out for the baby! Fred (my father in law) installed the screws in the ceiling for the Kanoe Baby Hammock that Grandma and Grandpa Dorwin got for the baby. (Grandma Dawson refused to buy it because she is terrified of the thoughts of putting a child in a hammock to sleep! She chose the much safer car seat option instead to ensure the baby's safety needs are met!)

Here is Joli testing out the hammock... She gave it her approval!

Baylie was curious to see what was going on. She has been following me around quite a bit lately, I think she knows something is up!

We decided not to bother trying to swaddle Joli, since we knew she most likely would not cooperate, and opted to swaddle the teddy bear instead. His friend got the diaper trial.

Lisa put together the baby's swing for me! She is so helpful! We had a few issues, but got the right parts and finally, a finished swing! Joli was so excited she tried to get in, but we talked her into putting the bear in the swing instead. Before she went home she told the bear goodnight, she was going to sleep in the big bed and that she would see him tomorrow. Then she climbed over the bar that we had advised her to stay behind and turned on the swing for the bear!

Here's a final picture, the newborn cloth diapers! The prefold diapers need to be washed and dried 6 times before they have full absorbency, so this was the first one. I'm on #5 now! Wahoo!

Baby Shower

Here are some pictures from my baby shower that Judith had for me in New Hampshire a few weekends ago. My mom, Amy, Molly, Kerry and I drove over from New York. We had Amy nervous about driving up the driveway, but we made it up with no problems!
It was so nice to see everyone. Amy, Molly and I had a good time looking through photo albums!

We also found a picture of Chris that I think just about tops my belly!

Chris called while we were all sitting around opening gifts. We set up the webcam and he got to say hello to everyone!

Welcome!

Hi everyone! Welcome to our blog. Im trying to get this set up before the baby comes, to work out any flaws! The baby should be here in 9 weeks (hopefully no longer! As soon as Chris steps foot in San Diego, were ready to go!) This kid kicks me like crazy daily... I have a feeling the baby is going to take after his/her dad in regards to nonstop craziness, although Chris knows I can school him in soccer any day of the week, so well see if this kid grows up to be a soccer star! Thanks for stopping by!
