Fun with Daddy!

Charlotte was thrilled when she woke up yesterday morning and Daddy was still here! We headed to our favorite breakfast spot then up to La Jolla to the beach!Daddy and Charlotte dug a big hole and Charlotte thought it was so funny to stand in it and bury her feet!
She continued to give Daddy lots of kisses throughout the day!
I actually got to lay in the sun a bit while Charlotte and Chris played! It was wonderful!
Of course she saw me with the camera and made her stinky face smile!
Charlotte was a big help with digging the hole. She would put some sand back in, or take some out with her hands!
Chris tried to dig a hole big enough for them both to fit in, so he started digging two holes side by side. Charlotte kept going back and forth between the two! He eventually gave up!
They headed down to the water to fill up Charlotte's bucket.

Charlotte was ok until the water hit her feet, then she quickly started tugging on Chris' pants.
He didn't respond fast enough so she turned and booked it up the beach, crying as she went!
Finally Daddy caught up to her and it was all better!
We had a great time relaxing and playing!

She loved exploring with Chris! He is determined to break her of her girly/prissy ways!
We had a fun morning and headed home for naps... for Charlotte AND Chris. He thinks two year olds are exhausting as well!
After nap we headed down to the park for a bit. Of course Charlotte wanted Daddy to push her on the swings!
She had to keep her goldfish close by at all times, even when swinging!
From there we headed to get a bite to eat, and then some ice cream and to listen to some music. We had a lovely evening together!

He's Home!

We are finally a complete family once again! Chris arrived home safely Thursday night from a 7 month deployment. Charlotte and I were very excited to go to the airport and pick him up! We went earlier in the day and got some little American flags for her to carry. She agreed to carry them under the condition the she could call them "Cinderella wands" and she danced about like the fairy godmother with her flags! We will have to work on the true meaning of the flags when she gets a bit bigger!
We ran into a couple of the other girls picking the guys up on an earlier flight and Tessa was nice enough to take a picture for us.
Charlotte ran wild through the line sanctions and had a blast while we waited!

Our friend Tatum was kind enough to come and photograph the event for us. It was a long seven months, and now that he is home it feels like he never left so it was so nice to have someone capture the reunion! She did a wonderful job and I am so grateful that she took the time to come take photos for us!! Thanks Tatum!
I bought Charlotte's dress back at Christmas time. I saw it and fell in love and thought "this is a perfect homecoming dress!". She waited very patiently for Daddy and was only bribed with three packets of fruit snacks! We finally spotted Daddy on the walkway above baggage claim!Chris wore his new suit that he got overseas home so he didn't have to pack it and check a bag! He looked very handsome!Charlotte was very excited and went right over to Chris, then stopped about a foot away and stared talking about her flag. She wouldn't go any closer until I picked her up. Then she wouldn't let go of Chris!!!She was a very happy little girl! She started showing off right away and kept bringing Daddy different brochures for places she would like to visit! We finally left the airport and went to get a bite to eat. Charlotte didn't want me to put her in or out of her car seat, carry her, or basically do anything that Daddy could do instead! When we were leaving dinner she looked at me and put her arms up for me to carry her, then stopped, and turned to Chris instead!! When we got home Baylie was equally excited to see Chris!
It was late, but Charlotte had taken a late nap on purpose, but was still not tired. Chris read her some stories.
She was very excited to tell him all about Beauty and the Beast!
She must have given Chris a hundred kisses before she went to bed! She was so happy her Daddy is home!!

Phone pictures!

I have a bunch of photos I took with my phone that I figured I would share!

A few weeks ago we went out to dinner with the girls and got frozen yogurt after! Charlotte was thrilled and ate her yogurt with Tessa. Well she actually tried to pick out the M&M's!
Charlotte likes to put on my shoes and tried to leave the house like this!
We went shopping at Whole Foods and they have child size shopping carts. Charlotte was thrilled.
She kept trying to sneak things I didn't need into the cart... like salami!
Charlotte loves Baylie to pieces, but she has the same issue that she does with Markus, that she doesn't know how to be loving but gentle!
A few weekends ago we had a lazy morning. Charlotte got her pillow from her room and layed on the floor and watched Tangled!
Last week on Monday before Gymboree music we stopped at Trader Joes. We also stopped at Starbucks after because Mama was very tired. Charlotte enjoyed some Passion Tea Lemonade!
On Tuesday we went to our Gymboree Play class. Charlotte loves the inner tubes!
Charlotte and Anna both sat comfortably for a while before moving on to play!

We have been going down to the park quite a bit! I have been bringing a snack down after her nap and eating it there. Charlotte has been obsessed with Clementines and will eat like 8 a day! She even eats them while swinging!
Yesterday Charlotte helped me make her French Toast for breakfast! She was happy about it, but then didn't really eat it!
We headed off to Stroller Strides, rainboots and all!
Yesterday afternoon Charlotte had her 2 year checkup. She was so happy! She loves going to the doctor!
She weighs 26 pounds and is 33 inches tall! She is a happy healthy toddler!
