Summer's Past Pumpkin Patch... Again!

Chris got home from a trip late last night and Charlotte was very excited to see him when she woke up, (one of the 6 or so times). This morning after I slept in and Chris played with Charlotte, we decided to take a drive out to Summer's Past to get a piece for Charlotte's Halloween costume, and also to look at some more pumpkins. Chris has never been, so we though it would be fun to go! There weren't very many pumpkins left, but we had fun!

Bates Nut Farm

Today we drove about an hour to Bates Nut Farm. They have one of the best pumpkin patches around with lots of things for the kids to do. While it isn't the same as apple orchards/pumpkin patches back east, it was pretty nice. It also was almost 90 degress which made it NOT feel like fall at all! Lilly and Charlotte hung out while Joli and Syrus went on the Pony ride.I brought Charlotte's tutu with us to take some pictures before she outgrows it and fall is over. She didn't really want to smile for the camera today... she was more interested in eating her tutu.Abby tried to get her to laugh and this is what Charlotte did...
We have been practicing standing up. A pumpkin is a great prop!
I gave up and took off the tutu and sat her in the pumpkins to take pictures instead!
A little smile...
It was very difficult to get into the middle of all the pumpkins while holding a squirmy baby...
The straw was especially enticing and Charlotte tried to put it in her mouth every chance she got!
After I took it away several times she decided to just chew on her fingers.
Charlotte was a piece of work during lunch. She refused to sit still, ate half of a GIANT avocado, tried to grab everything close to her, all while screeching with joy for most of our meal. She was very very silly.
After we ate, killed about 8 bees, and packed up, the little girls were getting sleepy, but we went on a tractor hay ride before we left!
We went to the country store before heading out and Lisa informed me that Charlotte was passed out. I would have to agree.
I carried the chubbah back to the car where she proceeded to stay asleep the whole way home. Joli was so tired she fell asleep too! Lisa and I got to drive in peace and quiet! What a concept! Here's to wishing for a chilly weekend...

Joli and Bath!

Yesterday Lisa went to get her hair cut so I watched Joli for her. The other day (after Chris babysat Charlotte and Joli) I found all these blankets unfolded in Charlotte's bedroom. I asked Chris what they were, and why he let Joli do that. He said he didn't and she must have done it after we got back. I was very confused and swore that they used them to make a fort. He continually denied it. While I was telling Lisa this story, we went into Charlotte's room to find Joli unfolding all of Charlotte's blankets. Apparently, there was a bear under the blankets, who was sick. He needed the blankets to make him feel better. Duh! (Notice the layers of blankets)While Lisa was gone we read lots of books!
Charlotte eventually needed a nap and after I put her down I came out of the room to see a very happy Joli pronouncing that she had given herself Tattoos!
Joli then discovered that there was a little birds nest in the tree in the living room. She then realized there were two little eggs in it. This followed by lots of standing on the chair looking at the eggs. She then instructed me to go into Charlotte's bedroom and stay there. She then ran back out into the living room and got up on the chair. I asked her what she was doing and she told me to get back in the bedroom. I asked her if she was trying to get the eggs out and she smiled and told me yes.
Lisa came back and Joli was very happy to see her. Doesn't her hair look pretty!?!
Tonight since Chris wasn't home to do bathtime, I gave Charlotte a bath in the baby tub in the sink. She can sit up in it now and thought it was lots of fun! I like how she is properly covering herself up with her bath toy so she doesn't expose herself to the blogging world.
She was very cranky today and didn't nap very well. She went to bed at 6:30 and fell asleep nursing, which she never does! Poor baby! Hopefully tomorrow will be a nicer day!

So Cute Its Scary!

I can't believe that it is already Halloween time! Charlotte has so many Halloween outfits, but most of them are long sleeved and have long pants... and it has just been too warm! Today it was cooler in the morning and I put her Halloween shirt on her! I had lots of trouble getting it over her big head, so once it was on it was staying on! Baylie is quite the entertainer. Charlotte goes nuts when Baylie comes near her!
The only problem is that Baylie does not like Charlotte, and stays far far away. Charlotte likes to grab her skin, and pull her hair, and Baylie does not like to be messed with! Baylie thought Charlotte's pumpkin was a ball though, and she ventured closer than normal!
Charlotte got so excited! She only gets this excited about Baylie, and other little kids! She LOVES other babies!
Surprisingly, Baylie jumped up onto the chair with Charlotte. I was amazed. Charlotte was thrilled! She also thinks that the remote is a much better teething toy than anything I have bought her!
Tonight, we went up to Pottery Barn Kids to get a replacement Blankie. Nothing happened to her original Blankie, but we thought we should probably get a second so that when something does happen to Blankie, we will have a backup. They stopped selling them online, BUT they still had one left in the store! We went out to dinner while we were out! Chris want's me to stress that Charlotte ISN'T a devil, but the shirt is still cute! (It says "Daddy's Little Devil")When we got home it was bath time, which is Baylie's new favorite game. She is obsessed with the squirt toys and likes for Chris to squirt her with water so she can drink it.
Baylie actually did a cat like maneuver tonight and jumped up onto the tub ledge, evaluated how deep the water was, and jumped back down.
Charlotte has also learned to splash. It's wonderful.
Again, only this excited to see Baylie!

A Week In Review

I sincerely apologize for not blogging since Tuesday. I know Grandma is very upset with me and has started to dread looking at the blog in the morning when she wakes up because she doesn't want to be let down. So here is a new post with a recap of what we did this week. Wednesday we had swimming lessons. It was a good lesson... Charlotte learned how to splash which made for a very soaked Mommy. Lisa and I both left our camera's in our bags... of course, so we have no pictures. Boo.
Thursday Lisa, Joli, Charlotte and I went to the Corvette Diner for lunch. It is a 50's diner, which just moved to a new location, and is really cool inside. We got there a few minutes early so we waited outside and played with the giant pumpkin! Charlotte was more interested in watching Joli.
Lisa put up a great post about our time... check out Lisa's Blog for more pictures!
Charlotte thought it was so neat sitting at the table!
After Charlotte woke up from a nap, we went to get her some balls in hopes of enticing her to crawl... It didn't work.
Friday we just hung out... Charlotte thought the laundry basket was fun. She brought all her teddy friends in with her!
Last night Charlotte woke up around 1am and proceeded to scream for about a half hour, she was fed, clearly tired, and had a clean diaper. We couldn't figure out what was wrong finally I stuck my finger in her mouth, and felt a little tooth cutting through. Poor baby. She finally went back to sleep and slept until 9 this morning! After she fell back asleep I turned to Chris and told him I was going to miss her little toothless grins. I can't believe how fast she is growing up!

Playtime!

Charlotte has a new favorite toy(s). It is a Montessori exercise called the "Treasure Basket". It is a basket filled with a collection of household items for the babies to explore. Charlotte thinks this is the greatest thing since the boob. Baylie took Charlotte's bib (I Love Kisses) literally and gave her kisses.
In the basket there are a number of things... She likes CD case and an Old Navy gift card...
Chris gets a big kick out of the hairbrush. Charlotte puts the bristles in her mouth every time, and makes an awful face, takes it out and looks at it, then puts it back in again!Smiles!
Charlotte was trying to call her Grandma's on the phone.
The tag on the Boppy is very interesting.
Last but not least... Charlotte's favorite, the Pumpkin!
It was such a nice day to sit outside and play!

Lazy weekend!

Chris had a three day weekend so we spent most of the weekend cleaning and picking up but managed to escape to Lisa's Saturday night for dinner. Charlotte loved all of Lisa's Halloween stuff!Joli kept bringing Charlotte things to play with. Charlotte loved the soccer ball!
Joe was away so Chris got suckered into playing tea party and dancing!
Charlotte was full of giggles. She found Joli to be particularly entertaining. We took a hilarious video of the two of them after dinner. Joli started dancing around the kitchen and Charlotte was hysterically laughing. I have never heard her laugh so hard. The conversation went something like this:

Charlotte: giggle giggle giggle
Joli: Stop Laughing.
Charlotte: giggle squeal giggle giggle
Joli: Is this some kind of a joke?
Charlotte: squeal giggle squeal
Joli: I told you stop laughing, its NOT funny

We were quite entertained. This was after we sat down for dinner and Joli let out a sigh and said "ohhh Lisa".
Charlotte was right at home in Lisa's arms and fell asleep on the porch.
We're so glad to be back... and have a clean house!
