Library and Girls dinner!

This morning we went to storytime at the library. Charlotte loved the fact that she could reach the bins with the board books in them!
They had an awesome display set up for Christmas with a train that went around. Charlotte was fascinated!
Tonight we went over to Robyn's for dinner. I was hoping Charlotte would make it until at least 7, especially since she hardly napped today. She loved being at Robyn's!
It was so nice to have other people to play with her!
To my surprise, Charlotte stayed awake, happy, laughing and jabbering "dadadada" until we left at 9pm!!!
She even tried to crawl, but kept going backwards. I thought she might go forward to get to Joli's Hungry Hungry Hippo game, but no such luck!
Jeanelle got to meet Charlotte for the first time too!
We have another busy day tomorrow, I can't believe what a great mood Charlotte was in tonight and how late she stayed up without hardly one whine all night!!! Yay!

Chilly afternoon!

It only got into the high 50's today, which is cold for San Diego! Charlotte thought it was a bit cold too!Charlotte's Great Uncle Pete was down here for work and stopped to have lunch. We played with Baylie outside a bit while we waited!
We had a nice lunch and Charlotte was in a great mood the whole time! She really liked Uncle Pete's beard.
Uncle Alex joined us too! It was a really nice afternoon!

Crib!

In an effort to get Charlotte to sleep better we decided it was time to move her into her own bedroom and out of her hammock and into a crib. So today Charlotte and I went to Babies R Us and picked out a new crib! It was all very exciting until the box wouldn't fit in my car with Charlotte's car seat. The lady said she could make it fit but it would be over Charlotte's head. I said, no thank you. She said she could tie it on my roof with twine, but if it fell off they weren't responsible. I didn't really want to have the crib fall off while I was driving and then have to go buy another one. So I thought for a few minutes, and finally it occurred to me that we could just take the pieces out of the box and they would all fit! So that is what we did!Lisa came over tonight and her sister Brianna watched the girls in the living room while Lisa set it up. She is a wiz at putting things together. Charlotte was thrilled with this new thing to be in!
Joli couldn't wait until we were finished and kept coming in every minute or so to check. Charlotte of course thought Joli was very funny today, like always!
Joli made sure that Charlotte wasn't lonely in her new bed so she gave her lots of friends to keep her company!
Charlotte is sound asleep and didn't fuss one bit going down! Hopefully she will enjoy being able to move around!

Christmas Parade!!

Tonight we headed over to Coronado for their annual Christmas parade. Charlotte had to look festive, of course!

We started at the ferry landing waiting for Santa. Joli and Charlotte somewhat cooperated for a couple pictures!

Only in California does Santa arrive by ferry! (He is on the left with his two elves!)
We made our way back into town to watch the Parade. Charlotte was a wiggle worm and really wanted to get Lilly's juice. She isn't quite crawling but she is moving!
She was absoutley thrilled with the parade. She didn't stop bouncing the whole hour! She really liked it when the marching band came by! She was so silly! We had a great time and it really put us in the holiday spirit!

Music

Today we went to music! Charlotte isn't crawling yet, but she is trying! She can move all around the room by scooting and rolling! Charlotte was very excited to see the Metallophone!
While the other kids were having a turn Charlotte played with the people clackers! They made a great chew toy!
Finally it was her turn for the Metallophone and all she wanted to do was eat the mallets!
She was very funny today with the lollipop drum! She loves to bang!
It is crazy watching how much she is growing. Usually she sits and watches while the other kids look in the magic bag or box to see what is inside. Today she grabbed it and dumped it out!
Bell shakers! Yay!

Little Red Wagon

Christmas has been coming early for Charlotte since I don't want to have to ship her presents back! Yesterday she got a Radio Flyer walker wagon. Joli thinks it's the greatest thing because we can put Charlotte in and she can push her all over the place! Charlotte has learned to hang on for dear life, but thinks it is great fun!

Happy Birthday Grandpa Great!

Today is Grandpa Great's 88th Birthday! I am sure over the next year we will hear several times how he is "just a youngster at only 88!". For those of you who don't know Grandpa, he is quite the character and always the entertainer. I am looking forward to Christmas when I get to hear all of his great jokes and sayings. Grandma frowns everytime he tells his version of "the night before Christmas", but I love it and can recite it now myself. Chris and I find ourselves saying "Grandpa sayings" more and more, Chris' favorite being "Damnit Dorwin", even though he isn't a Dorwin, and my favorite recently has been "Shit and two are nine". I'm almost positive people look at me funny when I say it but I just laugh to myself. So Happy Birthday Grandpa and thanks for being such a wonderful Grandfather to myself, Kelly and a Great Grandpa to Charlotte, and for always providing us with endless entertainment. We love you!
