Happy 1st Birthday Charlotte!

Yesterday Charlotte celebrated her very first birthday! I can't believe it has been a year since we welcomed her into the world.

She started off her morning right by going for a ride outside in her new Cozy Coupe! She loved it!
After she woke up from her nap, her friends arrived to help her celebrate!

Joli loved Charlotte's baby dolls! They were ready to party!
Lilly looked glamorous in her party hat!
She didn't like that her mommy was in the kitchen and she wasn't allowed in!
The girls had a snack of blueberries together at Charlotte's little table!
She was so happy Lisa was here. She sat with her for about 15 minutes, just hanging out on with her in the chair. Once Joli came over Charlotte started squealing, and Lisa's baby in her belly started going nuts!
Mimi made us a wonderful dinner, Charlotte's favorite, pasta and meatballs!
I was determined to get her a carrot cake from Costco, and it was wonderful. It was a little large for us to eat, but everyone got lots of cake to bring home!
Charlotte loved us singing Happy Birthday to her! She isn't like her mommy, she didn't cry once while we sang!
Lisa got impatient waiting for her slice of cake, so she went after the whole corner!
Syrus loved the cake too!

After cake, Charlotte had a bath and then we got ready to open presents!
Joli was very excited and tried to show Charlotte what to do. Charlotte didn't really care.
Syrus and Joli helped her with her packages. What a little princess!
I think her favorite thing was her doll stroller! Her and Lilly pushed it around non-stop.
We had a lot of fun, but the kids sure are crazy! I can't believe my baby is one!!!

Sunny Friday!

The weather is calling for rain tomorrow and Sunday, but today was every so sunny! We spent LOTS of time outside! Charlotte got a Cozy Coupe for her birthday from Grandma and Grandpa Great, and we attempted to put it together. Charlotte was just as happy with it in pieces!

She decided the flowers from the vines were pretty exciting too!
We went to Coronado to walk around and take pictures and have lunch. Charlotte was the perfect subject to photograph!

Lisa and Joli met us for lunch, and we hung out by the fountain while we waited for them. Charlotte wasn't afraid!

After lunch we walked down by the beach. Joli and Charlotte played in the sand. Joli drew a circle around Charlotte. We weren't sure if it was symbolizing a playpen but Charlotte did her best to follow directions.

By the end she was a sandy icky baby. She consumed quite a bit of sand, which I'm sure I will see again tomorrow in her diaper! Check out Lisa's blog for some pretty pictures of her growing belly!

Thursday!

Mimi joined us for music class today. Charlotte was every excited and was showing off all her skills!I know you can't see her face in this picture, but she was waving! She is so stubborn. She won't wave when you ask her to, and although she started waving a while ago, she hasn't done it in a couple weeks. Today she did it nice and clear and I happened to get a picture!
She was a bit snotty in class today. Her friend Miles kept sharing the bells with her, but she didn't want to share them back, or have him get too close to her! She had a good stash of bells in front of her!
Ms. Dayna let the kids play a song on the guitar. She asked what Charlotte's favorite song was and I couldn't tell her either Taylor Swift or Lady GaGa! So Charlotte played "Row Row Row Your Boat" instead!
I don't think they like Ms. Dayna too much!!!
After music we decided to go to Balboa Park since Mom has never been! We had lunch on Grandma and Grandpa at the Prado restaurant. It was lovely. The wonderful Waiter didn't settle for my request for water and brought me a Margarita! He must have known I needed it! Not only was it a margarita, but the shaker was left on the table to refill throughout the meal! Needless to say, Mom drove us home! We did our best to entertain a tired little baby, and in turn she entertained us!

Charlotte refused to take an afternoon nap once we got home. Of course, the one day that I wanted to lay down (had nothing to do with the effects of the Margarita's) all I heard in the baby monitor for about an hour was "aaa na na na.... mamama ah na na na". I finally got up and we went over to Abby's for dinner! The kids are usually crazy, whiny, loud and crying, but whenever someone else is around (Dad's, Grandparent's) they make us out to be liars! They all played nice and quiet... and even together! What the heck!!!

Mimi's Here!

We went to pick up Mimi from the airport tonight and Charlotte was very excited to see her! When we got home Mimi brought out lots of my old toys and Charlotte just loved them! She was so happy to play tonight before bed!
