Lunch Date!

Charlotte and I had a special treat today! We got to have lunch with Daddy! Chris got out of work around lunch time, but still had some things to do before coming home, but he met us at the park for sandwiches and playing! Charlotte and I got there before he did so we played on the playground and walked around!

Chris arrived and there was some tickling of the baby before we ate lunch!
Chris and Charlotte went down the slides a few times until she got bored and they moved on to the swings. She isn't too independent yet... she actually prefers to stay close to home base. She did look at the playground longingly a few times, and by the end of our date she was starting to venture a bit further off the blanket!
Come on Dad, let's go!!!
Chris showed off his headstand skills and Charlotte thought it was great! He tried desperately for Charlotte to give him a kiss. At one point she actually looked at him, and crawled away with this evil little grin on her face! She finally gave him a quick one before we left!
We had our first real bump on the head today. Charlotte walked into her booster seat, and the tray flipped and hit her in the head. I didn't think it hurt that bad, until she started crying, and even then I thought she was being a wimp, how much could plastic really hurt? It was when I saw the large egg on her forehead that I felt bad!
She quickly recovered though!
She has quite the temper when she doesn't get something she wants, or when something gets taken away from her... I have no idea where she learned to pout... hmmm... It looks like Charlotte's Red Sox cap isn't going to last her this season... her head seems to have grown... looks like we will have to get her a new one!

Summer's Past Photo Shoot!

Well, when I got my new camera at Christmas it was under one stipulation: We wouldn't get professional pictures taken. Well... one of the mom's that we do Stroller Strides with is a professional photographer and we don't have very many pictures of the three of us... so Chris agreed, and I think he is very happy he did! Jenna Rowe, of Jenna Rowe Photography met us at Summer's Past and spent the morning with us and took some great pictures! We had lots of fun and it was nice to not be the one taking all the pictures for once!!! Here are some of my favorites!

Easter Bunny!

The Easter Bunny came to our house this morning! Charlotte was delighted to see he brought her her very own Hoberman Sphere! The Grandma and Grandpa Bunny also sent her a Bitty Baby doll! She was so thrilled she had to taste her hand to make sure she was real!
We used the Hoberman Sphere in music class as our "sharing ball". Well, now Charlotte doesn't have to share it anymore!
Next she had her eye on the bouncy ball. She thought it was a great idea to keep putting it back into the basket after Mama took it out... this went on for about five minutes! Then she tried to put the doll in the basket too.The bunny also brought some new bath toys!
Charlotte was excited to sing "If you're happy and you know it!" The flower headband tops it off!The bunny brought her three books!
She happily left on her headband until I decided to take it off her! I guess she doesn't mind headbands! What a nice morning!

Egg Hunt!

Today we had our Easter party with Abby/Shane and Joe/Lisa and all the animals children! Charlotte the bunny greeted everyone when they arrived!
The kids could hardly wait to see what the Easter Bunny had hid in the backyard! Charlotte set off with her basket to find some eggs!
Daddy shared her eggs with her. She liked having goldfish crackers, and bunny shaped marshmallows, but really enjoyed having bits of jelly beans!
The kids found all the eggs and were kind enough to pose for us in between shoving candy into their mouths!
Charlotte's favorites were the soccer ball eggs!
The boys did all the cooking/preparing of lunch and us girls hung out in the sun with the kids!
Charlotte loves to play in the dirt and pick the leaves off the flowers... oh well.
The boys finally stopped talking politics and antics for half a second and came to join us outside! We managed to get a nice family picture!
Charlotte took a nap and while she was sleeping we filled the water table with water for the kids to play in. They had a blast watering the roses. Charlotte thought it was great fun to wake up to!
Eventually we made our way inside to unwind and Charlotte just wanted to lounge with Lisa!
Charlotte and Lilly were sad to see Joli leave, and stood at the door and watched them drive off! We had such a nice day with our friends!

And She's Off!!!

Well, Charlotte is just shy of 13 months, and she is FINALLY walking. I have thought for about a month now that she was going to walk any day... but she is stubborn (wonder where she got that from?) and would just sit down and crawl to where she wanted to be! She finally decided today that she had the confidence to do it, and never looked back! Don't you just love the tongue hanging out?
