Charlotte meets Markus!

Charlotte was so happy to see Mama Lisa after a few days of separation!
Charlotte met Markus and wasn't really excited... So Markus stuck his tongue out at her!
She wanted to give Lisa lots of kisses though!
Markus slept again the whole time we were there! What a good baby!
Chris got to hold Markus and remembered how nice it is to have a quiet sleeping baby... (he wasn't around for the night time feedings though!)

Chris put Charlotte's bow in his hair, and then forgot he had it there until Lisa told him! I wasn't going to remind him it was there!
Markus took a little snooze with his Daddy... so cute!
Charlotte had fun playing with Joli's sandbox and seeing everyone!
The troublemakers... Lisa and I can't believe how big the girls look now that Markus is here and is so tiny!
After we went home and took naps, (even Mommy) then Grammy and Papa took her for a bike ride. She just loves her bike, and helmet!

Baby Markus has arrived!

Yesterday I had the pleasure of watching Markus William Scott come into the world. I got a phone call from Lisa at 4am, telling me to meet them at the birth center. It was so nice of her to let me sleep until then! I was to be in charge of Joli, since she needed an adult to be with her at the center. I also was the one with the camera! Lisa labored for the entire morning and about halfway through with not much progress they decided to break her water. That got things moving, but she was still not fully dialated and needed to progress faster or else she was going to need to transfer to the hospital. Luckily she had an awesome midwife who stayed calm and helped Lisa dialate to move things along. After an intense half hour, Markus was born in the water at 1:39pm. He weighed 7lb 4oz and is 19.5 inches long! He is just adorable!
Lisa is the strongest woman I know. She labored like a champ with absolutely no drugs. Apart from a few glares at Joe when he suggested she do something she didn't like, she remained calm, strong and focused. It really is a miracle watching a baby be born into the world! Lisa really lucked out with a great midwife and an awesome nurse!
Joe was awesome throughout the whole thing. He was so proud to hold his baby boy!
I got to hold the baby too...
He is already requesting no pictures!
Little piggy toes are just so cute!
After about 4 hours, Lisa and Joe went home with Markus. Lisa is doing great, but still recovering from not sleeping much and the stress of the delivery!
She is so glad to have her baby in her arms and not in her belly anymore!
Joli was there too yesterday, but was a little unsure of what to think of the whole thing. Today she was much happier being at home and holding her little brother!
Markus slept the whole time I was there!
Such a tired little baby!

It is true what they say about not taking as many pictures of your first child once the second is born. Even though Markus isn't mine, I haven't taken a single picture of poor Charlotte in two days! Pretty soon he is going to be running around with the rest of the crew so I have to soak it up while I can :)
Congratulations Lisa, Joe and Joli. Markus is one lucky baby to have such a great family!

Pool Party!

Yesterday we celebrated not only my birthday, but Syrus' birthday too! We had a great time!We started off at the pool. Charlotte was happy to see Lilly again!
Lilly was ready to party!Abby and Shane watched Charlotte for us Friday night since we had a wedding to go to. They took the kids to the park and Abby said people kept asking her if the girls were twins! The look nothing alike, but do happen to be the same size!

We have been laughing a lot lately at the things Charlotte has been doing. We swear she is learning from Joli! Her latest... crossing her arms.
I think she wanted to go swimming!
Syrus and Joli were fighting and Syrus got in trouble, so Joli put herself in time out. She told me "Leave me alone, I'm frustrated!". (note the arm crossing)
Meanwhile, someone was sneaking some cake!
Once Syrus realized what Lilly was doing he quickly put an end to it!
Until he thought it might be a good idea!
Lisa was really hoping for the baby to come out! She is 38 weeks.
Charlotte loves her other set of parents! We have been joking that Charlotte calls Lisa "Mommy Lisa", but it is only allowed when we are in the confines of our own homes, or else people might really think she has two mommies! Especially when it is just Lisa and I out!
Abby made Syrus a yummy dinosaur cake! Charlotte enjoyed her piece.
They were having a chlorination issue with the pool, so as soon as they opened it, everyone went in!
Charlotte swam with Chris for a bit, and then I thought she might be getting cold, since Joli was shivering. Clearly Charlotte has more body fat than Joli!
She dried off, then proceeded to make her way to the pool again!
All the kids had fun with their daddies!

I love the difference in skin tones. You can just pick out the two families. We joked though if I were in the pool, you would be very confused as to which I actually belonged with. I didn't luck out with the nice dark skin!!!
We went home for naps and when Charlotte woke up, Grammy and Papa arrived shortly after!

Playground and Zoo!

This morning we got bagels and went to the playground to have breakfast and play. Charlotte was very entertaining!

Charlotte just loves to give her Daddy kisses!
Of course we had to go on the swings!
We decided it was time to go home and take a nap when Charlotte started falling asleep in the swing! She slept for 3 hours!
After she woke up and we had lunch we met Lisa, Joe, Sam and Ashley at the zoo! Charlotte wouldn't let go of the railing!
We looked at lots of elephants and Charlotte was in a great mood!
Joli didn't have a nap, so we brought the double stroller and Charlotte got the shaded view!
Tired Joli and Pregnant Lisa!
Berkley was also very happy the whole time we were there! We didn't hear a peep out of her!
Everyone came over for dinner and we had a very nice day!
