Pool

Yesterday we went to the pool to play! Chris was the big kid as usual! Joli loved it!Charlotte offered Daddy the pool monster some graham crackers!
Charlotte wasn't too into the pool. She played with Daddy for a few minutes then got out.She did however like Markus!
Lisa can't get in the pool yet, but she wanted Markus to go swimming, so Chris took him in. He didn't like it!
Someone has quite the personality!

Lilly, Syrus and Abby played Peek-A-Boo with Charlotte from the pool!
Charlotte really liked looking at Markus. Lisa made a tent to protect him from the sun, and Charlotte kept peeking her head under it! "Here Markus, I have THREE graham crackers..."
We had a fun day!

Music and Date Night!

We started music class again on Thursday! Ms. Dayna moved in April, but Ms. Summer took over her classes. We finally got enough mom's and kids to do class again!
Charlotte was thrilled with the scarves!
She knew just what to do!

Thursday night Abby and Shane brought the kids over and Lynsie and Josh babysat so the adults could go to the fair! The kids are getting so cute playing with each other!
Except for when it was time to share the car! Lilly moved over to let Charlotte in, but then immediately regretted her decision!

We had a blast at the fair and were so glad to have an evening away from the kids!

Tuesday

We spent Tuesday hanging out. Charlotte's fever came back and went up to the high 103's. I held off on the Motrin and let her body do its work, and sure enough by Tuesday evening she was as cool as a cucumber and acting pretty much back to herself. Thanks for giving us a scare Charlotte!

Baylie and Charlotte like to wait for Daddy to come home from work!
Since Charlotte was still warm, and it was warm out, she played in her diaper!
She likes to climb into the chair, but it is just an inch or so too tall for her to feel the ground when she tries to get down, so she just cries.
Charlotte has an obsession with clothing. She will carry piles of it around the house. This is what happens when her room is picked up... she goes to the laundry basket for some clothes to carry!
The bike helmet is a favorite these days... She likes to make sure she is protected for bed!

We're glad you're feeling better Charlotte!

Sick

Saturday night after we left Lisa and Joes, and Charlotte had smothered Markus with kisses, I thought Charlotte felt warm after her bath. Chris assured me that she wasn't warm. I took her temperature anyway, and it was 102.5. I know that taking it after a bath can make it warmer, but not that warm! We put Charlotte to bed and watched it. Sunday morning it spiked to the 103's-104's. We spent the day putting her in the tub, tried Tylenol which didn't work, and finally Motrin. Monday morning I called her doctor and they told me to bring her in. Before that though Kelley and Lynsie came over to drop off some more Motrin and some pedialite for Charlotte. The Motrin brought her fever down and she felt well enough to play outside!

She wasn't quite herself though. She was rubbing her face, ears, nose anything. So I wanted her to just get checked out to make sure she didn't have an ear infection or sore throat. So we went to the doctor. She had a 101.3 temp when we got there even with the Motrin. Her peditrician thought it was just a virus but told me to be careful if her fever got above 105, she should probably have blood work done. By the time we got home her temperature was already up in the 103's. I gave her some more Motrin and put her down for a nap.
She didn't sleep very well. She woke up screaming and I went in to check on her. She had a 105 degree fever, and that was two hours after having the dose of Motrin. So we headed up to Children's Hospital and they assured us it would be quick. Well, it wasn't. We sat outside and after about an hour she stopped screaming and her temp started to drop. By the time they took her vital signs, she was down to 99 degrees and itching to go home and have some food! Charlotte and I got the car and Chris went in to tell them we were going to leave. Well, they didn't like that, so they told us they had a room for us right then and they really wanted to check Charlotte. So we agreed.
Charlotte was plain old bored. She entertained herself with my wallet.
And her shoes...
Finally we had had enough. The nurse came in once, only because Chris went out to ask what was going on, and they asked if they could catheterize Charlotte to get a urine sample to rule out a UTI. Uh.. no. Plus her doctor checked for it earlier. So we decided to leave and come home. She was acting pretty normal at that point. We kept her dosed with Motrin throughout the night, and she woke up Tuesday morning without a fever.. but stay tuned... it came back!

Dinners

Over the past few days we have brought Lisa and Joe dinner a few times. Charlotte enjoyed putting her dinner in her hair, so Daddy spiked it. Kinda gross, but it looked pretty cool!
Charlotte loves to be with Lisa and usually is ok with sitting next to her, but when she can't climb into her lap, she just gives her lots and lots of kisses!
Or plays with the cat!
We brought dinner over again today, and took some pictures while the boys finished making it. Charlotte is developing quite the little personality!
Markus sleeps though pretty much anything...
Don't they say your second child doesn't get held as much as your first? I don't think Lisa ever puts Markus down!! I don't blame her, he is just so cute and snugly!
Charlotte was happy at first, but quickly deteriorated.
She was very interested in Markus today and waved her hand and said "Hi" to him over and over.
We went inside and chatted a bit before dinner... again, Charlotte wanted to be involved in the action!
She actually gave Markus kisses tonight!
Her favorite part of the evening was when a dog commercial came on the TV! She made sure to wave to the dog!
