Charlotte's Party

Yesterday we had a little party for Charlotte's birthday, but first here are a few pictures of Caroline in her party attire. I was going to put her in a cute dress but it was chilly...

Charlotte was all decked out in purple from head to toe!
Reyna and the twins came, both wearing tutu's!
The big hit of the morning was the cooler filled with ice!

The babies were a big hit with Charlotte too!
Chris worked very hard on Charlotte's cake and it came out wonderful! It was so yummy too! It better have been since he stayed up until 2:30 in the morning finishing it!
Of course when it came time to sing to Charlotte she hid her face!
Then she pushed her friends out of the way because she was afraid they were going to blow out her candles...

Chris made sure each child had a piece of cake and a cupcake so they would go home filled up with sugar. Charlotte loved her cake but wanted to eat it with her hands instead of a fork.
Caroline slept through most of the party.
Abby brought her whole bike/scooter/ride on toy stash and the kids had a blast.
We played and played and did bubbles and chased balloons. I think we were at the park for about 4 hours! Needless to say, we came home and all took naps!
We can't believe Charlotte is three!!!

Update

Last Wednesday I was finally able to get my catheter out. I had a CT-Scan and then had to go up to Urology, so I wasn't sure how long I would be. I thought it would be a good idea to send Chris with a bottle for Caroline just in case. Chris took Charlotte and Caroline to the park and Charlotte got to feed Caroline a bottle! Charlotte was very excited when they picked me up and I got my "pee bag" off. We have been adjusting to a family of four nicely. Charlotte loves her little sister and doesn't give us too much of a hard time, she just doesn't like to stop talking!

She wants Caroline to do everything she does!
Friday we went to see Dr. Marc before we went to Hip Hop dance class! Caroline did great for her adjustment!
Then Charlotte had her new Hip Hop class. She was a little shy since there was a new teacher and all new kids. She was also the youngest one. But I think with a few more classes she will love it!

Chris has been super dad... cleaning, cooking, doing laundry, baking cakes... I have been trying to make sure he has a chance to relax and enjoy the baby too!
I don't think he could be any happier with his two girls!
Saturday morning Charlotte had tap and ballet class. She was very excited. So was Caroline.

Caroline likes to be awake right when we are trying to go to sleep... go figure!
We brought Charlotte's jeep down to the park so she could practice riding it where she wouldn't crash into anything. She just drove it in circles!
She had lots of fun until all the kids came over and wanted to try. She was really good though and shared with them!
Charlotte helped me stamp the baby announcements... If you get one with an address stamp multiple times, that is why!
Some more of the sleeping baby...

Leanh came over on Saturday night to meet the baby! She brought us tons of food for the freezer! It was so kind of her!
She will have her own baby to snuggle with in a few months!

Happy 3rd Birthday Charlotte!

On Tuesday Miss. Charlotte turned 3 years old We made cupcakes Monday night for her to bring to school. Chris has been watching Cake Boss (it was on one night in the hospital and he got hooked...) So he and Charlotte made beautiful purple cupcakes!!
Caroline and I went to bed and Chris stayed up and wrapped packages, blew up balloons and put up streamers so Charlotte would be surprised in the morning. He reminded me that this is the first birthday besides her birth that he has been home for! When she woke up we went in to sing to her and she covered her face! She then went to the living room to see what was waiting for her! She loved opening her packages from Mimi and Grammy and Papa!
One of her favorite things were her balloons. She insisted on bringing them in the car to school with her, but hid behind them when I tried to take her picture...
Since we weren't home for Christmas, she got a few big presents for her birthday. We thought we should space them out so when she got home from school her dollhouse from Dede and Babo was waiting!
since it was Molly's birthday as well, we FaceTime-ed with Molly. When everyone samg to Charlotte she hid her face then she ran to her room and shut her door!

After nap we had one more surprise for her, a Jeep from Babo Skip! She was so excited but wanted someone to ride in it with her! Chris gladly volunteered even thoigh he doesn't meet the weight limit!
Caroline slept most of the day and Charlotte sat by her side whenever she thought about it. She just loves her to pieces!
Chris once again practiced his baking skills and made Charlotte a pony cake. She loved it!
While Chris was decorating the big one, Charlotte decorated her own!
Charlotte was very excited for us to sing to her! She again covered her face...
She got a crown from school that she wore while we sang, it was very cute!
Uncle Alex came over as we were having dinner so he stayed and ate with us. Charlotte convinced him to brush her teeth which he had never done and was brushing for a very long time!
He also met Baby Caroline!

I would say Charlotte had a great birthday and thank you to everyone for the cards, gifts and phone calls that made her day extra special!

One Week Old

On Monday Caroline was officially one week old! Crazy how fast time flies by. Charlotte is continuing to love her baby sister! We headed out to see our pediatrician for a check up for Caroline. Charlotte got to help!
Caroline weighed in at 7lb 15oz! What a little piggy. She was 7lb 4oz when we left the hospital only 3 days before!
She is a good healthy little baby, and we don't have to go back for another couple weeks since she is doing so well! (we love our pediatrician!)
Somehow Charlotte got to pick out a treat even though it wasn't her doctors appointment. She of course picked out a little cell phone with lip gloss in it. She very quickly found out that it was sticky and didn't taste good!
We stopped and had lunch and Charlotte kept bugging us for a "special drink" from Jamba Juice.
After a busy morning we were all tired and spent the rest of the day at home, where Caroline proceeded to sleep the day away!

Charlotte is such a big help, she lets you know as soon as Caroline spits up and makes sure to wipe her face for her!
She loves just interacting with her anyway she can right now!
Caroline is a frequent guest in Charlotte's bed. In fact, when Charlotte goes to her room to "take a break" she now asks if Caroline can go with her. She just can't wait until she is big enough to play!
