Ice Skating!

This past weekend Grammy and Papa came over for a visit. It was a chilly but sunny day out and we decided to head down to the local ice skating rink to let Charlotte try out her skates. She had a great time and did awesome! Chris hasn't been on skates in a while and had a couple falls, one while holding Caroline! Charlotte and Caroline loved getting rides around the ice in/on the bucket that Chris brought for Charlotte to hold onto, I think they enjoyed that more than the skating! We didn't stay too long as we were all turning to ice but it was so fun to get out of the house! Think we will be doing more ice skating, maybe just inside next time!

Caroline is 11 Months Old!

Miss. Caroline turned 11 months old yesterday and we were able to get her to sit still for a few minutes to get a few pictures. This past month Caroline has started walking and she is getting pretty good at it! She is very active and loves climbing on her new chair she got for Christmas. She has started to figure out how to get down off the couch without just plummeting off, as well going down the stairs. Now if she doesn't want to go to bed she will just go down the stairs instead of up them! She loves taking baths and will walk into the bathroom and stand at the tub, yell and try to get in! She has her two bottom teeth, and one on top. Then there are three others on top that are ready to come in any day now! I've started making her goats milk formula (it's that Vermont lifestyle) and she loves it. We are officially finished nursing, which is bittersweet. She will at least snuggle with me still at night in the rocking chair, which is a lot since she never sits still! She is an expert at blowing raspberries and loves to now "talk" on my phone, or anything that resembles a phone. Her favorite being the baby monitor. Charlotte likes to call her "a little rascal baby", and she sure is! Cute but mischievous! Can't believe she is almost one! Oh and it's a good thing we are almost done with these monthly pictures because she has figured out how to rip off the sticker!

Wagon Ride

It has been pretty warm the last couple days, causing a lot of our snow to melt. This afternoon we decided to take the girls outside in the wagon for a little walk. It was a bit colder than we expected but they enjoyed themselves. Caroline hasn't been in the wagon since the fall and was pretty good in the beginning at sitting down.
The girls enjoyed getting chauffeured around and Chris and I did our best to not slip in the mud! I am already not looking forward to mud season in the spring, dirt roads are very slippery to drive on!

We got to the top of the hill and Caroline had had enough. Chris decided that he would ride down the hill with them, except they were a little bit too heavy.

Charlotte did a great job keeping Caroline on her bottom. Once we got to the top of the hill though it was all useless, the child wanted to stand and the child was going to stand.

She also tried to climb out...

She was not very happy once we put her back in and made Charlotte hold onto her.

So she ended up in Chris' arms for the rest of the walk back. Spoiled little baby she is! I think both she and Charlotte enjoyed the temporary thaw and gave us a glimpse of spring.... now we shall prepare for the temperatures to drop again and hopefully more snow, it just looks so boring outside if it is going to be so cold!

A Warmer Day.

Last Tuesday after Charlotte got home from school and Caroline got up from her nap, we decided to take the girls outside since it was in the high 30's. Since it wasn't so cold we didn't dress Caroline in her typical snow outfit, just some fleece pants with windbreaker ones over top, her jacket, hat and mittens. She was much happier with this crawl-able outfit! She even practiced her walking standing, taking one step and dive bombing into whoever is close by. She was quite happy to play with Charlotte's snow fort and her "castles" she made. She also found some sticks which she thought were quite delicious. Eventually her mitten fell off and she started to cry, which I took as she was ready to go inside, however upon taking her in and getting her stuff off she just proceeded to scream and watch Charlotte and Chris from the window or door. We eventually talked Charlotte into coming inside and playing with Caroline, which Caroline was quite pleased with! It was a fun snow day!
