Apple Picking!

Last week? Or the week before? All the days are blending.... anyway, we went apple picking agin. This time we brought our friends! The puppies were there still and the kids loved them!
Charlotte thought that she should fill her bag with the apples from the box of already picked apples, it was much easier that way!
Once I broke it to her that we needed to pick the apples instead of taking the easy way she proceeded through the orchard!

It was a pretty big chaotic mess...

Lisa ran out of bag space so she very creatively stored her apples!

Our friend Nikki came with her two kids and Charlotte loved playing with Haylie!
The big kids wandered through the orchard. They told Abby and Lisa later that while they were picking apples they were saying "damn it". They asked them why, and they responded that "there were worms and spiders in the apples" so they had to say damn it. Funny kids!
It was a hot day in Julian and Charlotte loved drinking from the water bottle, even if there was no water left!
After we were done we bravely took seven children to lunch. Luckily we had Lynsie with us, so we boosted our numbers to five adults! The kids were tired, hot and pretty cranky! But the food was yummy! Charlotte didn't fall asleep until the last 5 minutes of the hour and a half ride home... figures!

Gymboree!

We had Gymboree class today. Anna was in our class. Charlotte was very excited to see Anna, and she was thrilled that Anna had on a name tag that she was obsessed with pulling off!She followed her everywhere until she got it off!
Then she stuck it back on!
She actually went on the trampoline all by herself! She is still working on the concept of jumping.
This is our 5th week and Charlotte has figured out how to climb up the climber! She did it all by herself! The first week she didn't even know what to do, and each time she got a bit better. I was so proud of her!
It's so nice to see progress! Not that I want her to know how to climb...
Once she got to the top then she got to throw the bean bags down!
Charlotte loves the balls at gymboree. She threw a couple at her friends today. Not on purpose, but they happened to be standing in the way. One dad said that she had quite the arm! It's all the ball throwing for Baylie!
Something new today was hula hoops! Charlotte was so happy!

The signature activity in level 4 is the "tap tap freeze" dance. They have a big air log and a song to go along where the kids tap on the log, and then when it tells them they freeze! Charlotte this week started saying "pat pat pat EEZE!" and puts her hands on her head. It is the funniest thing!
Anna was very funny. She kept going over and sitting on this dad's lap! She loves men!
I really am not very fond of clowns, and the mascot for gymboree is Gymbo the clown. Charlotte loves him. I guess he isn't really a very scary clown. She wanted to give him lots of hugs and kisses!
Once class was over, Charlotte went up to our teacher and put her hands up for her to pick her up! Then she put her head down on her shoulder. It was so cute! She then held hands and walked over with her to get stamps.

Charlotte had stamps on both hands and feet and still wanted more!
So she decided that she would just sit with Ms. Rachel instead.
We stayed and played for a few minutes after class. Poor Charlotte has 8 teeth in/coming in and I think they are really bothering her. She found a soft triangle and loved chewing on it!
She also mastered climbing up this ladder/climber. The holes in it were a bit intimidating, but she did great and kept going back!
Then of course what would a day be without a little self admiration! She loves looking at herself in the mirror!
She went over to where the music was playing and danced by herself. A part in the song told you to sit down, so Charlotte did!
One last stretch before we left and we were all set!

What were we thinking...

... introducing poor Markus into the craziness of all our children. We went to Lisa's last Wednesday for dinner. Joli went to a church program with their neighbor so we were left with just the two babies! Charlotte got really good at putting Markus' binky back in his mouth!...whether he wanted it or not!

She looks so big next to Markus!
Charlotte was so kind and gave Markus her crocs to entertain him!
Thursday night we had dinner with all the girls who had someone deployed! There were about 11 adults!! It was no short of crazy! Charlotte entertained herself with grapes.
We eventually gave the kids a bath so they could watch a movie and settle down. I don't know if five kids are going to fit in the tub together... then again, I don't know that Markus is going to feel safe in a tub with four other rowdy children!

Whew! Definitely a crazy couple of days!

Meatball Mornings

For the past week, Charlotte has loved taking showers with me in the mornings. Once I showed her how to squirt the soap in her hand and wash herself, she thinks its awesome! When we're all clean I wrap her up in a towel and she watched TV on my bed. She doesn't like for me to take the towel off her so eventually I get her dressed then wrap her back in the towel!
I can't believe how long her hair has gotten in just the last month! It has a little curl to it at the bottom, but when it is wet it is so long!
If we have nothing to do in the morning we just hang out around the house. Charlotte really likes playing in my bedroom!
Sorry Charlotte, you can't go outside with the dog with no clothes on first thing in the morning!
Last week our friend Anna came over to play! Of course the girls weren't happy playing with dry toys and had to play with the water!

They eventually moved on to the riding toys, but of course they both wanted the same one!
We went inside to make lunch and Anna thought it would be fun to stand on the table! Sue went to take her down, but I had to snap a quick picture first!!! Good thing Charlotte doesn't know how to climb up there yet!
We have been doing a lot to keep busy and it has made the past week fly by!
