Playing in the Snow!

After our visit to Grammy and Papa's when it was very cold and windy, Charlotte has decided it is took cold to play in the snow. She didn't go outside once this past week. Today the temperature rose a bit and was in the 30's. Chris went out to cut a ring off of our Christmas tree (in his shorts) and came in and told Charlotte it was nice and warm and to come play. So we got her suited up, with extra warm clothes, just in case, and out she went! They started with making a snowman. Aunt Korey, Uncle Chuck and the kids sent the girls a little snowman making kit that came with a hat, carrot, buttons, eyes and a pipe. Charlotte couldn't wait to use it.  They made a little snowman because the snow apparently wasn't the right consistency for snowman building according to Daddy. Charlotte was thrilled with her snowman, he was nice and little and apparently he was telling her jokes! We forgot arms, but before coming inside she reminded Chris and I am happy to report the snowman now has arms! (The last time Charlotte attempted to make a snowman it ended up a little pile of snow. She asked Chris for a carrot for his nose and wanted to know if it was fresh from the garden. We then saw her sitting on the front step eating the carrot!)

Chris and Charlotte played outside for quite a while. They made a new sledding hill in the woods and were working on Charlotte's snow fort when Caroline woke up. Caroline has been sick this past week with an awful little cold. Just yesterday she started with the coughing. Since she isn't a terrible fan of the snow to begin with, we watched Daddy and Charlotte from the window. Baylie didn't like it when Daddy started throwing snowballs at the window! Charlotte however thought it was hysterical and continued throwing them. Chris lifted Charlotte up (the windows are high up in the living room) and she was making Caroline laugh from outside! I think poor Caroline really wanted to go out. Maybe once she is walking! (Which is getting closer, she took 5 steps yesterday!) It was a nice, relaxing Sunday!
