We're Home!

We got home from vacation late Monday night. Very Late. We flew out of Boston on a direct flight into San Diego. It was suppose to be 6 hours long. After getting on the plane, the pilot so kindly informs us that the winds were so strong and the plane was so heavy that we wouldn't have enough gas to make it to San Diego, so we would be stopping in Salt Lake City to refuel. It would be a 5 1/2 hour flight to Salt Lake City, then a half hour on the ground getting gas, and then another hour and a half to San Diego. We finally got to San Diego an hour and a half late, and then they told us that there were no open terminals for us so we waited on the plane for anohter half hour before we could get off... It was lots of fun. Charlotte was really good, but is getting very fidgety and didn't want to sit still. Baylie was awesome and slept the whole flight! Lisa picked us up and Tuesday was her birthday. We had her, Joe and Joli over for dinner and desert!Chris read Joli's Halloween book to the girls.
Charlotte was so excited to see Joli! Joli was playing "this little piggy" with Charlotte.
Yesterday we had swimming lessons. Joe had the day off so he swam with Joli. Lisa got in the water too, but only to be the photographer!

Charlotte had lots of fun being back in the water!

Fun on the Farm

This morning we went back to Lauren and Pete's for some more apple fun. It was still wet from yesterday but not raining, so we took lots of pictures and explored the gardens and animals!
Charlotte was in the best mood and happily posed for pictures, as long as eating flowers or berries was involved.
Lauren has a beautiful yard and lots of places for pictures!
Chris happily posed too... although he wasn't so thrilled with the idea of being rewarded with flowers and berries!
Charlotte absolutely loves squash and zucchini. Apparently, she doesn't mind if it isn't cooked!

She really just thinks we're all funny to look at!
She was fascinated by the cider press and checked it out with Daddy.
I had the great idea of getting into the truck with all the apples... It didn't come out as I had in mind, but still cute.
Papa (the name "Grampy" got bagged in favor of Papa) took Charlotte to see the Chickens. She didn't want to give her apple to them!
Then we went to see the piggies!
Papa made a new friend!
Charlotte was intrigued by the scarecrow.
There was a little mishap when a pig squealed. Grammy got scared and screamed (she thought the scarecrow was coming to life) and Charlotte got very upset. I thought it was quite funny!
Charlotte and Papa picked raspberries.
And had a ride on Papa's shoulders!
Then Chris tried to beat his record of 1:14 seconds of pressing a thing of apples, but couldn't do it!
We went for another walk in the road and Charlotte went on Papa's shoulders again. She really likes it because she can pull and eat his hair!
What a great morning!!!

Cider Party

Tonight we went to our friends for their annual Cider Party. Ever since I met Chris I have heard all about the Cider Party, but never got the chance to attend. This year not only were we able to come home for the fair, but the Cider Party was conveniently on the same weekend! I didn't take as many pictures as I wanted, but Charlotte was tired and it was rainy. We had fun anyway and got to see lots of friends! This afternoon Fred and Chris went outside to their apple trees and picked all the apples to bring to make cider!
Chris used his muscles to press the apples to make cider! This followed by cider races to see who could press the fastest...
In addition to our apples, there was an enormous trailer filled with apples to use for cider!
We brought home 5 gallons of cider! Yum!

Fair!

Tonight we went to the Deerfield Fair! Baylie wanted to come too and snuck out of the house and would not return. She layed down in submission when Chris tried to tell her to go back inside!
I had never been to the fair before, and Chris hadn't been in 5 years! We had a lot of fun and Chris got to see a lot of his old friends! Our friend Adam came up from Boston to see us. He is the one responsible for introducing Chris and I!
Here is Grammy presenting me with my Funnel Cake! Yum! What a great dinner!
Fried Twinkie anyone?!?!
If it wern't for Adam, Charlotte wouldn't be here! She really liked him, and Adam kept telling her to just wait until she gets big and he will tell her all sorts of stories about her Daddy! She responded by spitting up on him!
It was pretty cold out, and we passed a shop with lots of really nice hand knit wool hats. So Charlotte (and Chris) got one!
We watched some horse pulling, the pagent, and then went off to see friends. We met back up by the piggies to go on some rides!Charlotte was a trooper. She loved all the fair lights and stayed awake until almost 10:30 when we got home!
We had a great time and it was so nice to see Adam and relax and have fun! Oh and we brough home candy apples too!

Apples

This weekend is the infamous Cider Party. We went apple picking today to get some apples to bring to make cider. It was freezing out today, not sure if it got above 50 degrees. Charlotte was bundled up the most she has ever been but was in a pretty good mood. It got a lot better once she had some apples to chew on! It was a true fall day!
