A weekend full of Friends!

We have had a full weekend full of different friends! On Friday night Chris' friend Cody came over with his wife Katie and their baby Carson. Although I have a ton of pictures of Carson, I don't have any with Charlotte! Then last night our friends Sue and Brian came over with Anna and Baby Nora! Charlotte was very excited to see Anna!
Sue and Brian are from Massachusetts, so of course they are Red Sox fans. The daddies and the girls were very into the game!
However, I couldn't get Charlotte to change out of her pony outfit to wear Red Sox apparel, so she settled for a hat!
The girls had so much fun together. They went inside to jump on the bed and read books. They were up pretty late but they both were in awesome moods. The cutest part was when they were about to get in the tub and they were poking each other's belly buttons and giggling!
This morning we met Matt and Reyna and the twins at the Botanical Gardens to play! The kids were also excited to see each other, although when we got there Charlotte walked right by Zoey and Hayden to give Matt and Reyna hugs!
They built with the blocks...
They spent most of their time in the water... surprise surprise!

Charlotte kept leaving and going to Babo's house.

We eventually got the kids to leave the water to go eat some lunch.
The eating part didn't last for too long until they were off to find something else to play in. It happened to be the pile of wood chips...

We ventured back up to play a bit more before leaving. The kids liked making music!
Trying to get three kids to look at the camera at the same time is definitely a challenge!

One last trip through the treehouse and we headed home! What a fun weekend!

Playing with Daddy!

This morning it was kind of chilly, so Charlotte was beyond excited to get to wear her new "neigh" outfit from Grandma and Grandpa. She of course had to put on her "neigh boots" to complete the look. She really thinks she is a pony.We had just finished lunch and Charlotte was about to go down for a nap when she somehow escaped and brought Daddy to the slide with her! They were having so much fun that I couldn't make her go to bed just yet!

Charlotte loves crawling through the holes in the playhouse... even more when Chris crawls through with her!

They somehow coaxed Baylie in to play too.. She didn't seem too thrilled!

Daddy helped her climb too! She was very excited since she is a big scaredey cat!
She can get up to the top now with the help of a stool... she still has to climb a decent amount! She loves the slide though!
Finally it was time for the sleepy, dirty faced little girl to take a nap! Surprisingly she went right to sleep!

Fishing!

This weekend in an effort to do something Chris likes, we went fishing. It only lasted for about 20 minutes, and no one caught anything, but it was the thought that counts right? Charlotte was very excited about her new fishing pole. We left her other one at Grammy and Papa's, so she got to pick out a new princess pole!It was very windy, the pier was small and lined with fishermen, and there were red ants everywhere on the dirt. Needless to say, we had fun!

Charlotte is a pro at letting her line out and reeling it back in! (Her pole has a little rubber fish at the end so she catches a fish every time! Well, and so she doesn't get caught with her hook!)

Charlotte very quickly wanted to move on and go to the beach. Neither of us felt like the beach, so we coaxed Charlotte into accepting to go home and play in the sandbox!

Rain!

This morning was quite wonderful. We all slept past 9:00, I had to wake Charlotte up at 9:30! We were watching an episode of Little Bear where it is thundering and raining. Chris and I both agreed that we wished it would rain. Not more than five minutes later Chris looked outside and it was raining! We even heard some thunder! It was amazing! Chris ran out and tried to get Charlotte to join him, but she had just woken up.Charlotte and Baylie were afraid to get wet!
This afternoon was another story. It sprinkled on and off all day and while we were waiting for our friends to come over it started raining again! This time Charlotte was in a better mood and got on her rain boots and her umbrella!
San Diego rain is nothing compared to New York rain, but it was certainly well appreciated!
Charlotte loved twirling her umbrella!

I don't think she realized I was taking photos of her until I got right up close. Then I got the "why are you taking my picture" look.
Charlotte, Daddy and Baylie went to look for Reyna and Matt and the twins.
Charlotte thinks Baylie is her best friend. Yesterday she was yelling to Baylie to come and play with her. Poor kid needs a sibling now!

She spotted her friends and was very excited!

She waited patiently... or not so patiently, for them to get out of the car! More pictures to come...

Big Sister!

As most of you already know, Charlotte is going to be a big sister in February! She is very excited. She knows there is a baby in Mama's belly, and she also knows that the baby will drink milk when they come out! She has already been practicing on her own baby dolls!

We found out back in June while we were home visiting. I sort of knew since on the airplane I was disgusted by all the food smells, but it was still early. I actually told Mom first because she had such a fit when I was pregnant with Charlotte that she was one of the last people to know! (We were going home and Chris wanted to tell everyone in person!) Once Mom agreed that the very faint line was indeed a line, I went and told Chris. He was sleeping of course, like when I told him with Charlotte. He didn't seem too surprised! I spent most of the first trimester very tired and didn't want to eat certain foods, but no throwing up! Having a toddler to chase around this time also makes it much more tiring!

My due date is February 19th. We won't find out the gender this time around either, as we didn't with Charlotte until she was born. We both agree it is one of life's best and fewest surprises! We are currently discussing names, although we can't seem to see eye to eye on boys names. Chris thinks it's funny that I will randomly bring up a name and ask him what he things, and it is usually at a very random times!

I am seeing a wonderful doctor this time around who is extremely supportive of VBAC's (vaginal birth after cesarean) and natural births and hopefully if everything works out we can avoid another C-Section!

We can't wait to welcome another little baby into our family!
