Happy Birthday Joe!

Yesterday was Joe's birthday and Lisa had a barbeque for him! It was strange to have all the guys there this time! Leanh stole Charlotte as soon as she arrived... and also decided she liked my jelly beans that were being kept at Lisa's!
I was so happy, I got to have a Blue Moon! Yay! Lisa was happy for me too!
There is something about Lisa's house that puts Charlotte to sleep... don't know if that is a good thing or a bad thing! She even slept through the noise again, although once it rose a few decibels we decided to take her home!
The boys liked Charlotte too... and I'm sure if were still in San Diego when she starts to date there won't be a boy allowed anywhere close to her!
The gang. Little Bear, Chris, Robyn and Lisa... who as you can tell had had enough to drink!
Leanh and Brian with Charlotte. Brian insisted that Charlotte responded when he said her name, and was looking at him wave to her later in the night... I think it was the alcohol!
And the way the night ended... Jonas AND Charlotte asleep on the couch! It's a wonder she sleeps when we bring her home!

One more video

This one was pretty cute too. You can hear Charlotte cooing at Joli at the end!

New Toys

Charlotte has been getting some more personality lately and has been starting to interact. She loves Chris, here they are playing on her bed this afternoon!
She grabbed his mouth so he nibbled on her fingers!
Lisa, Joe and Joli came over yet again, and Joli was fascinated with the bulb syringe. She wanted to put it in Charlottes ears, but we informed her it was used to get boogies out of noses, so she tried it out.
She insisted on holding Charlotte and got mad when I would pick her back up because I started to fear for her safety! She insisted that Charlotte watch The Lion King with her!
Charlotte's new play gym came in the mail today and Lisa assembled it when she got here! Charlotte loved being on the floor looking at something new besides Mommy and Daddy!
Joli loved Charlottes new toys too and even though we tried to talk her out of laying next to her, we finally gave in and moved Charlotte over so Joli could fit. Charlotte LOVES Joli. She was more fascinated with her than with her new toy! She was cooing and trying to talk to her and Joli was whispering secrets to her, trying to get her to play and at one point she shook Charlottes hand and told her it was nice to meet her!
As I type the two boys are engrossed in The Lion King... so much for needing to do manly things! They were even singing along to the songs!
Here is a video of Joli and Charlotte playing tonight! They were so funny! Enjoy!

A Better Day

Yesterday Charlotte was very clingy. She did not want to sit in her swing, she didn't want to sit in her new bounce seat, she just wanted to be held. It was pretty warm out yesterday and I'm not sure if she was just uncomfortable, but she was awake just about all day long, which then meant she got pretty overtired. Even though she was crabby during the day,  she did sleep really good last night, from 10:30-3, and then from about 3:45-7, then about 7:30-10 this morning! I got her up and she ate breakfast, and slept on my chest for 2 more hours. Chris came home and I went to the store and she proceeded to sleep on his chest for about another hour and a half! She was pooped! She decided to wake up this afternoon and Chris put her in full Red Sox gear for opening day!
After dinner we decided to give her a bath. We had been just bringing her in the shower, but tonight we actually used the infant tub. She loved it! Baylie wanted to join in on the fun and sat outside the tub, licked the water, and whined.
Eventually Baylie snuck by me and jumped in the tub too!
Daddy is so silly!
This is what she has to say about me taking pictures of her when she is wet and cold!

We got her jammies on and realized they are getting too small for her! She is still little, but her legs are too long for most of her newborn jammies. The 0-3 month ones are still pretty big, so were in a bit of a jammie dilemma! Since she has been having great head control we tried her in her Bumbo, but sat right next to her in case of a dive bomb. She is still a bit small for it, but her head hits the back and helps keep it up also!
In an effort to play with Baylie, Chris put the laundry basket over her and she ran around until she ran into the wall and it finally came off. He decided he needed to give her some love to make it up to her!
And were off to get some sleep while we can!

Another fun evening!

Lisa, Joe and Joli came to OUR house for dinner tonight! Charlotte slept for a while before they got here, and all through dinner! She loves her snugly blankey and her froggie.

Joli entertained us during dinner. She proclaimed that Chris was an old man. We asked her what Charlotte was, and she said "baby Charlotte is a little girl, Mommy is a big girl, Kacie is a big girl, and daddy is a big girl". We asked her again if Daddy was a boy or girl, she told us a boy, and then said Daddy was a little boy! She was very funny! She was watching Pooh and wanted Charlotte to watch too. She even told her who the characters were!
Joli held Charlotte, and Lisa and I were amazed at how big Charlotte has gotten in the last month! She used to be so little next to Joli!Joli wanted Charlotte to talk to her! She asked her very nicely if she wanted to talk!

I woke Charlotte up after dinner to feed her and she was nice and content when she was finished! I can't believe how dark Charlotte looks next to me! Chris swears it is his 1/16th Native American heritage, but I swear it is my Italian coming out!

Lazy Day

Today I stayed in bed until 12:40. In the afternoon. And I slept. It was wonderful. Yesterday we went to the outlet mall with Lisa and Joe, and about halfway through our shopping trip I started to feel horrible. I thought it was just because I hadn't had enough water to drink, but on the way home I started to get chills and definitely had a fever. Which was confirmed once we got home. I then noticed my right breast was getting sore and was all red again. Ick. I'm so over breast infections. I got in bed when we got home and Charlotte was a champ and slept for 3 hours and then I woke her up to nurse, and we all went to bed after that. She has at least been letting me sleep and rest! She did however wake up this afternoon for a while, and we sat outside in the sun. Chris brought her hammock out and she hung out until she got fussy. Hopefully tomorrow I will feel better and we can get out of the house!

Rose/Cactus Gardens- Lisa and Joe's

Yesterday we decided instead of sitting in the house all afternoon, we would go to Balboa Park to the Rose and Cactus Gardens and get some fresh air!
It wasn't a very long walk, but it was nice to get out and moving a little more!
Charlotte stayed warm and cosy in her wrap on Chris's chest. He got a few stares when he had his sweatshirt zipped up and looked like he was pregnant!
Lisa invited us over for dinner, and we couldn't pass up the offer for someone else to cook for us. Charlotte loves her bouncy seat and slept all through dinner, with her hands up like that too....
Lisa contributed to my bad habits and bought me Sweet Tart Jelly Beans... just after Chris told me I wasn't allowed any more until Easter!
Charlotte took the opportunity to sleep while we were there, and then wake up once we got home. I have no idea how she sleeps in that position, let alone with music playing in the background and a very loud 2 year old dancing around!

Lisa had lots of wine, but promised to stay sitting so she could hold Charlotte for a bit.
I then however second guessed my decision to trust her with my baby when I found these pictures on my camera this morning. Clearly she had too much wine! There were about 10 more photos too....
