Playing in the snow!

Last night we got about 7 inches of snow and we went out to play in it this morning. Well, I went out to play, Charlotte wasn't too thrilled. She was very excited when she woke up and we looked out her window and saw the pretty snow, and she told me several times she wanted to go play outside, but once we got out there it took some talking into to get her interested, and even then it didn't really work!Mimi came out with us to take some pictures of us playing, but it really consisted of me dancing with Charlotte singing "Barney" to get her to smile. Ugh.

I tried to get her to make snow angels with me, but she just layed on me and whined while I made one.

Then we headed back towards the house. She wasn't too thrilled with sitting down again.
And then I sat her down by herself in the snow and she was not happy.

We finally made out way back inside and she walked back in with Mimi. I think we have had enough of the snow and are ready to get back to California!

Yogurt

Charlotte has decided lately that she wants to eat all by herself. She doesn't want any help, and she never uses her fingers. Even something that would be ok to eat with your fingers, she tries to stab with her fork. She will even push the food onto her spoon with her fork to put it in her mouth. She is very funny. She doesn't like it when the food spills either and insists that it be cleaned up immediately off the table. Yesterday she had two bowls of yogurt, and insisted on eating them alone. It was very entertaining!

Bad Mommy.

Ok so I must confess... I was not the best mother today. I purposely took my child out in the cold without a jacket just to take a few pictures. I am so sick of taking pictures inside and the background and lighting being boring and awful, and I am equally sick of taking pictures of the same jacket and hat. (I really hope Grandma doesn't read this as I am always getting scolded for not having Charlotte dressed properly!). Charlotte hates jackets to begin with, and it is more of a battle to have her put one on for the 30 seconds that we are usually going from the car to the house than it is worth is, plus I take it off her in her carseat so it is just pointless. If it is really cold I might put one on her, or just wrap her in a blanket and carry her in. Anyway... we went outside for about 3 minutes and she was pleased at first, and wanted to see the fish pond, then I think she was more aggravated with me saying "Charlotte smile, Charlotte look over here" than she did about the temperature. Bunny came out also to endure the cold air. It wasn't windy, so what the heck. You can't catch a cold from just the cold air, in fact a little fresh air is good for you :)

And then she was ready to go back inside! (Or just have Mama stop photographing her!)

Coffee

I ran out yesterday afternoon to run a few errands and Charlotte stayed at Grandma and Grandpas and when I returned I found her happily sitting on the counter, with seven of Grandma's Portmeirion/Villeory and Boch mugs, scooping the coffee from the canister into the cups.Grandma said she stood on the counter and got all the mugs out of the cabinet and then had been filling them with the coffee for about 45 minutes.
I have to say, she did a very good job and was very careful with her scooping and pouring. She did a very good job!

Grandma and I tried to pour some of the coffee back into the canister, and she got very mad at us. Same went for trying to remove mugs.
She accidently got some on her leg and then it ended up on her hand, and Charlotte doesn't like for her hands to be dirty!
Once we washed her hands off in the sink because a washcloth just wasn't doing it for her... she started scooping and pouring with a mug this time.
I eventually took away the mugs, one by one when she wasn't looking, then she started scooping up the coffee that she had spilt on the counter!
She had a moment of "what is this substance I have been playing with for 45 minutes, I better taste it"...
And she soon found out that coffee grinds are not very good!

Yuck!
Finally after having a drink of water to wash it down, we went to sit down for dinner and Grandma and Grandpa reported that their (brewed) coffee with dessert tasted just fine!!

A New Year!

Happy New Years! I don't think any of us made it to midnight last night! Charlotte took an early nap this morning, and finally (I hope) is over her little stomach bug. After she woke up we headed over to Grandma and Grandpa's. Once we got outside and I realized it was about 50, I ran inside and got Charlotte's New Year's outfit to put on once we got there. It was actually warm enough to go outside without hats and gloves and get some fresh air! We started with no jacket because Charlotte doesn't like to wear one.
Grandma still thought it was too cold outside so she stayed in for a little while and played peek-a-boo with Charlotte through the windows!

Charlotte's hair is getting so long, and now that I've been putting some moroccan oil in it after baths it is so soft and pretty. Well, I should say most of the time, the other half of the time she twists knots in it.
When she finally got cold she let me help her put her jacket on.

We brought her fire truck outside and she was thrilled with the real fire whistle went off down the street!
She filled the seat compartment with puzzle pieces.

I told her I would go in the garage in get more puzzle pieces if she would smile, so she did!

Grandma came outside and took a picture of Charlotte and I... which surprisingly came out ok! You should see Grandma try to use a camera, which is why I am so surprised that it included most of our bodies!!!
Here's to a great new year!
